What is everyone's opinions of Pings? I've never used anything different and still using my G30's but they are almost 10 years old now.
I was skeptical of the value of fitting for high handicappers like myself until I did it. Previously, I bought clubs off the rack with standard specs based on price and what I thought should work. That was very hit and miss; lucked out with a driver that I liked hitting, but not hybrids or irons. All that accomplished was years of frustration as a club tinkerer. Finally decided to get fit for irons this spring. I needed +2 in the lie and +1/2 length, and suddenly I'm making better contact than I ever have before. I'm a believer in fitting now. Sometimes the indian needs some help. Not all arrows are the same.Old Sarge said:
Same here Gaspasser. "High" handicapper here.
When I came back to golf after a long break, I knew my swing had changed and handicap had risen. I got my stamina back and went for a fitting. As an old Callaway guy, I wanted the Apex DCBs sooo bad, and thought the Mizuno HM were pretty sweet, and even swung the TM Stealth. Ended up hitting the Titleist T200s better than any others (and hit many) and it was not that close. When the fitter said the Titleist was next up, I was expecting the T350, but he handed me the T200 and it just "fit". I had taken the Titleist "iron selector" quiz and it kept pointing me to the T200s. I thought NFW was I going to be able to hit that club, but here I am. Very surprised.
That is why you go.
I've been using G430's with graphite shafts for the last few months and love them so far.Teslag said:

I'd still be using Ping Eye II Plus SW and LW if it didn't completely become illegal for USGA play in 2023. I put mine away in 2021-22 and it's taken 2 -3 years to get used to my new wedges.Teslag said:
