Looking for low spin ball options (driver). Heard that Srixon XV is a good option.

Any other recommendations?

Do you like firmer or softer? Higher flight or lower flight? Higher swing speed or lower?

Bridgestone E12 has been good for me. I get good distance and it really reduces the sidespin on poorer tee shots. It still performs well pitching/chipping on to greens.

My driver swing speed is about 105.

Ballnamic recommended Srixon Q Star Tour over the Z Stars I had been playing. Their model predicted about a 10 yard improvement on driver distance. My on course results have been really close since switching. It's pretty cheap and fast to do an online ball fitting.

I played the XV for several years and really liked it. Ultimately I switched because the feel off of the putter was a little firm for me. I've since started played the Titleist AVX and love it. Soft feel around the greens and has a great flight and low spin for me.

13 HCP. Driver swing speed is about 98. Priority is reducing sidespin on bad tee shots.

The e12 or older e6 will definitely do that.

AVX is the srtaightest ball i've played with and still gets you good greenside spin.

Its on the softer side and if you like a firmer ball try the Pro V1 left dash.

No joke. A client I played with a couple of years ago brought some Vaseline and applied it to his driver face on the first tee.

I vote for the Bridgestone E6

It's helped me reduce a big hook off the tee, feels good enough around the greens, and is reasonably priced.

I've only ever played AVX balls that I've found, but I've really liked them. I'm usually a ProV1 guy and I like the spin around the greens… BUT I definitely hit the AVX straighter off the tee. It's just hard to cough up that much $ for a non-ProV to give them an honest chance.

With a 13 hd cap I expect you have some greenside expectations. Urethane cover balls work great around the greens and are low spin off the driver. They are typically more expensive.

Try the Maxfli Tour ball. I like the S or standard tour for feel and my swing speed (mid 90's). The X is little longer but feels like a rock with my swing speed. The X will backup on the green like a ProV1X. They are half the price (4 dozen for $110) of the big brands.

If cost is not an issue:
Pro V1 family
Chrome Soft family
Chrome Tour
TP5 family (2019 version very long!)

When I'm hitting the ball like SHXT and don't want to donate the expensive balls to the OB gods, I keep a few E12's and Titleist Velocity's (very long) handy.

You pay for pro-V's but don't want to cough up $5 less for AVX's?

Correct. I know ProVs work. I'm not sure if AVXs would. What's the confusion?

Put another way… I don't want to pay $50/dozen for an experiment that may or may not work when I could just pay $55 and know that it works.

If you have the option in a pro shop, buy a sleeve of AVX's. I think you'll really like them.

This post, while thoughtful, doesn't really address the initial question…OP is looking for a low spin ball. Recommending the balls you did above in the "if cost isn't an issue" family doesn't address OP's question. The "families" you listed have variations in those lines to address high spin, low spin, high compression, low compression, high launch, low launch, etc. Just because a ball is expensive doesn't mean it fits every golfer.

Certainly considered that, I'm typically the same of the mind that it's best to give things an extended run to give it a fair shot… but I'll snag a sleeve and give em' a mini-test drive.

You are correct. Those families of premium balls are low spin off the driver with great greenside spin. Finding the right one for OP's swing requires a little testing/fitting. I personally don't like the feel of the X or greater compression balls. The Chrome Soft, ProV1, Maxfli Tour, TP5, Vice Pro and Tour B RX work well for me.

I've never liked AVX. They feel like hitting a cardboard box.

I'll try to resurrect this thread with a related question: When is it acceptable (or not) to hit your driver with a low spin ball, then trade it out for a high spin ball?

My gut feeling, if someone I was playing with did it, would be that I don't care so long as they're in the fairway, and there's nothing at stake. ($$, competitive title, etc..)

You mean swapping out balls on the same hole after the tee shot? I thought there was a penalty for that unless the ball was damaged. I guess if the round is just for fun, OK with me.

Only acceptable to swap out before your tee shot, not during a hole, and I highly recommend keeping a special pocket of low $ balls for par 3's over water
