Been a few years so my advice may be outdated but I'm pretty sure our group did a package through the resort itself. Couple nights, 3 rounds of golf, and the JSX flight there and back. Great time. I highly recommend.

Play early - it gets seriously hot. Course is fantastic.

Too bad you don't live in San Antonio.

It's just a day trip with a quick lunch thrown in.

We were going to stop on the way to New Mexico in October, but apparently there weren't any rooms available. Which surprised me.

So I guess get it locked in as soon as possible.

That's one strange location.

What's out there? Who'd build a resort there...Who'd work there??

Is there a Walmart nearby? Do Fedex and UPS deliver out there? Imagine having to deliver one box of something.

Beautiful part of Texas. We went last October and stayed at the resort. Can't wait to go back. Workers live on site in trailers. Meals provided etc. Talked to a few who haven't left the area in 5 plus years.

Edit to add that it's a little offsite. They have a pool etc.

Nearest Walmart is about 160 miles to Fort Stockton.

A buddy of mine is currently working on putting a trip together for us, but he wants to go in January. I don't think he fully grasps that deserts still get cold in the winter...

I grew up in Fort Stockton and live in the Phoenix area and you are correct. I discourage people looking to golf from visiting in January and February. It might be great but when it's cold it's cold. The other issue that time of year is the days are short.

I was just curious of the weather there and came across Feb. 21 of this year with a high of 91 and low of 47. Pretty wild.

We did 3 nights last year after thanksgiving. Was pretty much 50/60s whole time. Last morning was 39 at tee off but warmed up quickly. We played 6 rounds while there.

They're about to break ground on a par 3 course and are already putting in a big lake between 11 and 16 I believe.

Accommodations kinda like a hotel or are there options that would house 4-8 guys all in same place?

On property is primarily hotel, with some villas available.

Off property there are options in Lajitas, Terlingua, and Study Butte, check whatever short term rental sites you prefer to use...

Was there with family a couple years ago. I asked a kid in the pro shop if the pizza on site was good. He said to go instead. To a dive in terlingua on the main road. He wasn't wrong
