Headed down to Horseshoe Bay with some buddies and looking to play a round of golf. Unfortunately, I was out voted and we're staying at an AirBnB, so not no site anywhere. Any recommendations for a place to play, either there or near Austin?

I'd try and play Apple or Slick Rock if you can. Ram Rock is the hardest of the bunch, and with this heat, you don't want to be miserable if you're not hitting every fairway. There is also Legends Golf Course in Kingsland not fair from Horseshoe Bay that is decent.

I'll also add Delaware Springs. Played it last month and preferred it over Legends. Although Legends was still good, I prefer courses that aren't as wide open.

Just got back from Horsehoe Bay. It was an awesome experience. Stayed in the villas. The golf, pools, resort, all the upgrades were awesome. We played Slick and Apple Rock. Could play Legends and Deleware Springs out there if you cannot get on the resort courses.

If you can get out of your airbnb, i can hook you guys up on room discounts and maybe golf too (depending on dates)....

I took him up on this last week. The villas are awesome. Highly recommended

Legends is probably the best public course in the area, lighthouse is redoing their greens and I think has temp greens on most holes

I feel like this statement has been written 5-6 times over the last 10 years. They must really not try to keep their greens alive....

Delaware springs is great for a public course. If you can't get a hook up to a hsb course, I would strongly consider that. Legends is ok. Not bad. Vaaler creek down in blanco (not too far from ya) was really good years ago when I played it a bunch, but haven't been there in years so no idea what kind of shape its in these days.

What's the word on Blue Lake? I realize it's a 9 holer, but I have guys coming to play who don't golf, so the idea of being out in the open (as opposed to a neighborhood track) and the fact that we might have better odds there playing as a fivesome has me thinking about it.
