Was a fantastic time! Kings course…definitely a bucket list course.

My brother lives right next door and I've been trying to convince him to join for two years.

so I might or might not be there in April 2025, which course would you play? The Kings or PGA Centenary?

I know the Ryder Cup was at the PGA course but everything I read says Kings is a better layout/better views, while PGA is meh.

I have played both. I wouldn't call the Centenary course "meh", they are just different kinds of courses. The King's Course was designed by James Braid when course architecture wasn't constrained by the modern rules of course architecture. I doubt any architect would design a par 3 like #5 (Het Gridle) today. But, its a wonderful, quirky golf hole.



The Centenary Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is a very modern design and a very Nicklaus design. There is a lot of personal taste in what you might like. The last time I was in Scotland was for a 10 day golf trip with one of my golf buddies. He says that he dislikes the King's Course. Some of his dislike is the quirkiness of the course and some was that he didn't like his caddie. For me, I love the King's Course just for that quirkiness.

Meh, might be a poor choice of words, but the Centenary course was more of a course you could play in states. Not real memorable
