Just checked the leaderboard. Nelly got a 10 on a par 3. Probably played herself out of it on her fourth hole of the tournament. Haven't seen the video yet. Looks like she had to take three drops.

Those that start on the back nine seem to struggle out of the gate.

Adela has six straight pars. Seems to have settled down after a rocky start.

She's gonna make the cut at +8. She was fortunate that her pitch hit the flag stick and ended up a couple of feet from the hole and allowed her to make par on 18.. Would've probably rolled off the green otherwise.

Back nine still playing tough. She's given a couple back on the way to the clubhouse.

Currently -1 for the day and +7 overall with 18 yet to play. Sitting T49.

I think the biggest difference in PGA and LPGA is just the makeup of the players. As a dad of 2 daughters, the girls just mature faster than the boys. Good boys high school or college golfers just don't have the physical or mental maturity of the men they're trying to catch in professional golf.

With the ladies maturing much sooner in life, amateurs aren't at as much as a disadvantage physical against the women on the LPGA Tour physically. Mental maturity might be a different story with earned experience, but there's currently two amateurs in the top 5 and 3 in the top 15. That's just not going to happen on the PGAT.

And to be clear, I'm not saying it a bad thing. It's just different and has really made this LPGA US Open interesting to watch.
