So I stopped playing golf about 18 months ago. My game regressed to a point where it seemed like the more $ I spent the worse I played. One day I broke a wedge over the back of my neck and was like wtf am I doing, this is not fun.

I've started to watch golf again recently, and have gotten the itch again. There are no ranges here, but I've hit balls in this field where kids practice baseball.

I also am on the spectrum, and started thinking of my swing the way this autistic guy I follow on IG does… basically imagine club is a neon light and just trace same path down as back. I'm at least making solid contact every time and that one thought seems to work w my brain.

Today I got a wild hair and booked a tee time. Told myself I don't care what I shoot, I just want to relax and play some golf.

Wish me luck, and I'll see yall in the F Golf thread tonight

The most important thing is...don't think of it as work....enjoy yourself.

I almost ALWAYS play well my first outing after a long layoff.

Exactly. The 15th club doesn't factor into the game. Once it does, here comes the F golf thread.

First time I played in years was also Quail Valley, but played El Dorado.

Took my kid for his first real round….lost about a dozen balls.

What a pleasant evening. Not many people on the course.

I got there late and had no time for the range. Gave myself 2 breakfast balls on 1. Both hit houses on left (first ball may have actually cleared the first row it was so far left.

Once I got away from the starter and people in general I seemed to loosen up. Actually struck the ball pretty well w/ irons. Well enough that I was long on several greens and had to hit almost flops to have a chance at up and down.

Couple bad holes… had a snow man on 6 after my drive hit a tree and I hooked a 5 iron into the drink. Then on #8 the group of chads in front of me let me play thru… first 2 balls didn't get off the ground.

Back was better. Still had bogeys/doubles, but no blow up holes.

All in all I played better than I thought I would. My misses weren't terrible, and a lot of the times I only missed GIR by a few yds.

0 sh*nks, 0 balls hit so far behind they barely moved

Probably best hole I played and my phone was way out of focus

Needless to say I'm hooked again
