Breaking in a driver

Is this a thing anymore? I know baseball bats etc dont come out of the wrapper in peak performance but do drivers?

Or go to the range and hit a bucket to break it in?

Didn't even know this was ever a thing.

I can see taking it to the range to get a feel for it before bringing it to the course but what is there to break in?

Don't leave the head cover on it for too long at a time kinda like how you didn't want to burn in a plasma tv, same thing with drivers.

Definitely the way to break in a new driver. Think about how far dad could hit the ball right after he found out what happened to his new $600 yard driver. He would make Rory look like he can barely hit it.
