Have any of you guys heard about this place? Seems interesting and should mature nicely.

I've been following him building it. It looks fantastic. The club moto is slow players will be asked to leave. I'd love to play it someday. I'd imagine it's going to be pricey.

Didn't watch the video and I know nothing of it.

Not paying $1,000 to play that. Only 3 courses I'm willing to pay $1000 to play are:

Cypress Point
Augusta
Pine Valley

Any reason why you don't like a par 3 to start?

Just a mental thing I guess. I prefer the first tee have a wide fairway that I can hit my driver on. It's like it takes me that first shot with the driver to feel comfortable.

I feel the same when I play in scrambles with shotgun formats. I don't like starting on par 3's.

Have you ever played in a scramble shotgun start only to start on a par 3? No one likes it.

Imagine a course with #1 hole 195 yard par 3 with water right and 175 yard carry. I'd be putting on a scuba/ snorkel gear... Contract with the course and will start a golf ball resale company "OHO Balls."

Only hit once.

The Golf Club of McKinney had a terrible first tee shot. It was a long par 5 but the fairway was really tight and sloped hard left to right. Left was OB driving range and right was a creek full of rocks and trees. Plus you had to carry a small creek to get to the landing area.

Sometimes even a perfect drive would continue down to the creek if the fairways were hard and dry.

I think I hit 3 iron most of the time.

Its not $1000. Its $2200 for a foursome. Which is in line with what people pay Masters week. Palmetto is $1600 or so. Though I'd rather play Aiken GC for $140

But the cult following that ZB has had for Tree Farm has been wild. It looks awesome and certainly in line with modern course architecture, but seeing people pay big course prices for gear and swag for a place that they likely wont ever play and hadn't opened was always confusing to me.
