I've always been more of a feel/see the curve of the putt type putter. Wondering if Aim Point would help to give more concrete results. Also wanting to hear about personal experience and how to get started with it.

Unless you're putting for $100,000 don't mess with it bc you'll look like a dork if you're still missing everything from 10ft.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure aimpoint is not something want catching on with every Tom, Dick, and Harry at the course. Watching 14 handicappers pacing around the green trying to feel the slope with their feet might be the day I may quit (and I'm a 14 handicapper).

I've used it and it has helped me take more break in my read than I have in the past. I wouldn't use it if I was a 14 and I don't use it in a casual round. If I am in a more serious match and I have a long put with a side slope, I'll use it to check my line.

It's honestly not that hard to learn...I had a guy teach me in about 5 min on a green one day, and then I went and figured out how it worked for me through practice. But...it's too complicated to explain in this forum. Maybe check youtube

I understand aim point, but can't for the life of me feel the break with my feet unless it's 3 plus degrees.

It should be noted there's a difference btw just feeling slope in your feet and aim point.

I'm mainly wanting to get my misses to be on the highline vs the low side. I'm decent on feeling the line but my normal miss is low. Watching some videos about it made me wonder if it is a quick way to check what I am seeing and help getting higher and closer on my lags. Wouldn't hurt to drop a few more as well.

If you learn it and commit to actually using it correctly and looking like a dum dum then it's legit.

It really can help you read greens. But it's something u need to practice often to get good and fast at

Don't know why it gets a bad rep. I have been using aim point for about 4 months now. I love it and it's helped me out tremendously. And it's faster. The only time I squat to read a green is if I can't feel anything and not sure what it's going to do. That's maybe once a round. I feel it and go.

If you have an iPhone, there is a level app. Throw it down on the green and you will quickly see the difference between one and two degrees. Most "little breaks" are one degrees and the more sure breaks are mainly two degrees. I feel like above two is really obvious and less common.

I took an Aim Point lesson and thought it helped a lot. I don't use the holding my fingers out method very often. Just feeling it out with my feet and eyeballing it from there is usually good enough.

I think Aim Point and Putting Out of Your Mind is a great combination if you like to visualize.

you need to at least eye ball what is high side...if you cannot do this that is a huge problem. for me, this formula is pretty dead on, all things considered.

Another theory - a Dave Pelz one - is, like the above, find the apex of the curve, and then at hole high, move 3x that amount - that is your aim line. "Every putt is a straight putt".

Most have a tendency to aim at the apex of the curve and that is 100% not correct.
