My brother is arranging a trip with 4 rounds, including the "Old Course". As someone who plays in shorts 90% of the time in Corpus, what can be expected?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

It will be sunny and mid 70's, then pouring/windy and 40, then sunny and mid 70's...all during the same round.

As my buddy from Scotland says. There is no such thing as bad weather for golf, just bad clothes.

Was there last September…it could be anywhere from high 30s-high 50s…I typically played in light pants with wind/rain pants over them or cords…golf shirt 3/4 zip or hoodie maybe one more layer depending on temp or wind, be prepared for rain and wind regardless, going back in Aug

The worst conditions you've ever played in so basically you're gonna hate it. Tell you brother I'll go instead.

I was in Ireland last September -- pretty similar.

Most rounds were pants + a light pullover. We had a "shorts or bust" guy in the group and I think he wore shorts every round.

I prefer wearing pants but it was a bit too warm for that a few days,

I'd be prepared for it being a little warmer than you'd like, or a little cooler than you'd like. Seems unlikely that you'll get anything extreme.

I played the old course in March and have zero memories of the weather. Just sayin.

I'll be there this August,

What you wear to golf is your choice. Instead of shorts, go Kilt dude.

My wife and I are going in May and hoping for good weather. I will not be able to get on the Old Course, but plan to do a quick tour and see sites. I plan on play Cabot (Castle Stuart) in Northern Scotland. Looks nice but tight fairways, we will see.

Any info if someone has played that course or been in May? Thanks!

I have lived in Aberdeen for the last 1.5 years (still here now), September will be great golf weather. Recommend some of the footjoy rain gloves and good rain gear regardless.

Let me know if you want some more info, I am here primarily for golf (work assignment secondary).
