4 of us are going on a guy's golf trip the second or third week of June. We have 3 locations narrowed down and I would like input or opinions of you all. Thanks in advance! All are similarly priced with lodging and golf included. We are flying in Thursday. We are playing 4 rounds (two rounds each day on Friday and Saturday) and then home Sunday. Taking everything into account such as weather (especially option #3), access from nearest airport, etc they are....

Option #1 Myrtle Beach:
Caledonia
True Blue
Resort Club at Grande
Dunes Golf Club

Option #2 Sandhills/Pine NC
Pine Needles
Mid Pines
Tobacco Road
Southern Pines

Options #3 Mesquite/St. George
Sand Hollow
Black Desert
Wolf Creek
Coyote Springs

Haven't done 1 or 3, but been to the Pinehurst area several times. Can't go wrong there.

If all options are similar in price I'd pick #2 or #3. No way I'd go to MB if it's priced the same as your other two choices.

I'd throw pawleys plantation in the MB rotation. Played it in an absolute hurricane and the course was still very fun. The par 3 over the marsh is one of the more memorable holes I've played.

But price being equal you gotta pick pinehurst if you've never been. It's pure golf.

Did Mesquite/St George this summer...

We played Wolf Creek on Thursday
Copper Rock on Friday
Sand Hollow on Saturday

Wolf Creek is nice and the views are immaculate, but it's a gimmicky course in my opinion. One of those you play once to play it.

Copper Rock was outstanding for the price, I believe we paid like 90$. Great layout, great conditions, tough but fun course.

Sand Hollow was awesome. The front 9 is pretty boring scenery wise, but when you get to the back 9 it completely changes. The cliff holes are incredible.

I'll add some pics here as well!

(Copper Rock #17 I believe)

We went in early June. It was pretty much perfect weather. It was like 85 at Wolf Creek, we teed off at like 11am. It will be a 6 hour round, and they tell you that. The course plays long, but also lots of pic taking, etc

I wanna say it was upper 80s low 90s in Saint George for Sand Hollow/Copper Rock but it didn't feel that way at all.

All 3 rounds were very enjoyable weather wise, never felt hot.

Stay away from Myrtle Beach unless you want to be surrounded by Northeasterners!

We also stayed in Sand Hollow. Had 2 AirBnB's right next door to each other, and then had a few cars/vans rented. There was 24 of us. It was about an hour to Wolf Creek, maybe a tad longer, but not bad, plus you have the time change. Then about 20 minutes to Copper Rock, and 5 minutes to Sand Hollow

We're looking at that exact itinerary at St George for summer 2025, except swapping in Copper Rock for Coyote Springs.

Did that group of the Pines last summer and it was a fantastic experience, though I think likely more of a "serious" or classic golf experience than the desert party golf. If you go that route try to reserve the Finn Scooter motorcycle carts for a round. Think they had them at Mid Pines.

Did you use a company to quote these?

If so, can you share?

St George. Not close in my opinion. Especially if you've never been there

Thank you all for the recs. We pulled the trigger on Mesquite/St George which ended up being almost $400/person cheaper than the others as well. We did swap out Coyote Springs for Conestoga to reduce driving time.

Probably a solid choice. We couldn't get a tee time at Conestoga when we went in 2021 and went to Coyote Springs. It was a lot of fun out there but it is a bit of a drive. Its also a really weird golf location. It was built in 08 IIRC and opened right before the housing crash. You could see the streets and fire hydrants and such but there wasn't a single house out there. Great practice facility that no one uses. I'm a little surprised it's survived, but it's been 3 years since we visited.

And like a couple others have said, if you are playing Wolf Creek first I'd give yourself at least 7 hours from when you tee off to your time at Conestoga. Maybe it'll be quicker in the summer than when we were there in March, but we played a 6 hour round there. It was borderline miserable.

Fun course to play once but it's tricked up and quite difficult.

Tee time at Wolf creek is 8am. Conestoga is at 3:00. I hope we make that one lol. Thanks.

I'm sure you'll be good. Plenty of daylight that time of year to finish. Will be interested to see how yall feel after back to back 36 hole days there in June. Seems likely you get good weather but a scorcher isn't out of the realm. It will be dry though. Pinehurst could possibly be worse with the humidity

We are going to Landmand in Nebraska the third weekend in June. Could be swamp ass central.

Have fun in Mesquite/St George. Like I said it was a blast with our group of 24 in June. We're headed to Traverse City this summer!

We did a Michigan trip 2 years ago. Forest Dunes and Arcadia Bluffs were awesome if you are playing those two. I enjoyed that area much more than I thought I would. Enjoy!

How hot does it get in the St George area in June? I've been hiking around there in October and have never been during the summer.
