We have a family trip to London Summer '24 and I looked around for a nearby course that would allow myself and my son to play. I ended up getting a tee time here.
This isn't a golf trip but wanted to take a day to do this with my son as he's asked since he was quite young if he could ever go play with me in Ireland/Scotland on one of my trips.
Apparently it hosted the Open a couple of times and was slated to host a couple more. The last two had to move venues due to flooding however and it was never placed back in the Open rotation again. It does host a (annual?) qualifier for the the Open however.
I assume it is good, having hosted and having the Royal designation, but curious if anyone has played it.
Looking forward to playing a links course with my son regardless of it's quality.
thanks
