My wife and I booked a trip to Maui from January 3-9. I completely forgot about the Sentry, which is being played on Maui that weekend. So of course I bought tickets. Friday tickets for me and my wife (our three kids get in free with our GA tickets) including parking was $300. Seems like a steal to me with the field that will be there. Anybody ever gone to this event before?

Never been but go listen to NLU's recap from last season. They were there and speak on the experience. Well worth a listen to help make your choice.

Honestly surprised tickets cost that much. Never appears to be more than a few thousand fans there.

I played it last year a week before the tournament. As someone else said, the course is a beast to walk. 10 green, 11 tee box 13 green and 14 tee box are all by each other so probably a good play to see a lot with great ocean views. I'd walk over to the 18th green after that. For the morning 2 and 8 are par 3's that are pretty close. Could also watch tee shots on 3 and 9. I wouldn't bother walking 4-7 or 15-17 unless you want to see the whole course.

They might not have the whole course open to patrons

I doubt they allow people to walk from 8 tee to 8 green

I would look at a map and make sure u don't get stuck out there and have to double back to get to clubhouse

Everything in HI is expensive. It's only $45/$55 for residents, which is understandable. I'm sure some of the proceeds will go towards the rebuilding/recovery since the wildfire. If not, you can just imagine that it is. Look at the hikes, simply just that. No need to rush from one hole to the next. Like an above poster said, I would be aware of where you can and cannot walk before heading out though. Enjoy your time, and play Manele if you can!

To clarify I meant watch from behind the 8 green. I wouldn't walk to the 8 tee box. I don't remember a ton of grandstands other than 1, 18 and 14 tee.

Ive been to it twice. Its a fun day and way less crowded than any other torunaments Ive been to.

As they said, definitely a beast to walk the whole thing. And it's Hawaii, so plan 20-30 minutes of rain at some point.

There's a good spot on the back nine where you are really close to two tee boxes and two greens. Check a map but its something like 9-12 or 10-13. Easy to see a bunch of action. Pretty sure they sold beer right there too.

If you can get a seat upstairs at Plantation House, its always fun to watch guys come in on 18.
