Was looking to join at the beginning of 2024 but have heard the greens are still not in great shape. Anyone have insight on how the course is looking currently? Still think it's a better value and environment than Traditions for money games and such!

Greens are running better than they were in the summer, and I'd say, "that's not saying too much" because they were super slow and ugly. Pebble greens I doubt will ever roll like Miramont/Traditions until they redo the greens, which there are rumors they are possibly going to do exactly that. The front nine is worst than the front 9. Hole 1, hole 3, hole 6 are the worst of the bunch. Hole 12 was victim of someone doing a donut on the green and the superintendent has that pretty much healed. What we've got for us is our superintendent. He's very informative and working his butt off. As long as he's in it for the long haul I think the course will look good, eventually.

On the course itself, there are some balding areas like most courses around here have. I played Traditions today and some of their fairways have some poor spots on the fairway as well, but Pebble's look worse still. Also, they're using a shockwave machine so there are tiny lines cut through certain holes. I think this is supposed to help the grass growth (allowing the roots to absorb the water more efficiently?)

My advice would be wait a month or 2 and see if they announce their plans for a new irrigation system/redoing the greens. If I were looking for a "cheap longterm club option I would play A&M til Pebble announces their plans. I'd give them til Feb/March.

I can't afford Miramont or Traditions. I definitely prefer playing Pebble over A&M when it comes to character of course, members, and MGA events/tournaments.

Paspalum greens coming spring 24 as well as capped number of golf members.

They're running a nice membership special right now that won't be available after the first of the year.

I run the MGA out there, holler with any specific questions.

Glad to see this happening. And with the salt levels in the water here Paspalum appears to be a great choice. I hope this transition turns out great.

We just played the "Greenskeeper Revenge" tournament this past weekend and the greens look way better and were much faster. Now the course was setup hard in certain areas with crazy hard pin placements, but they rolled really well.

The deal going on right now for new members does look good. If you need other members opinions about the club, course, food, etc. let us know. Its a fun club to be a part of. I joined the MGA this year, and missed half the events, but I really had a good time. I am not a great golfer 9-13 hdcp depending on my playing frequency.

Hope you guys join or come play sometime. Thanks and gig'em!

I don't have membership pricing but it's 40% off initiation, you can reach out to membership director below.

Here's the cliff notes on the official update on PCCC as of yesterday:

"...the addition of entirely new putting surfaces by mid-year. New greens! This will be accompanied by all new Platinum Seashore Paspalum on all black and alternate tee boxes, a complete surface restructure of hole #4 tee box, and remediation of our most intrusive "bald spots".

Greens reconstruction is slated to begin March 1st and is expected to last 45-75 days. We are excited to announce we are resurfacing 21 greens in total (front and back practice greens included) with Platinum Seashore Paspalum.

Third party contractor Graham Golf will begin resurfacing on the front-nine holes, before moving to the back-nine closer to the beginning of April. While working on the front, back-nine play will be unaffected and the front nine will implement temporary greens. Once work begins on the back nine, temporary greens will be implemented on all 18 holes until Superintendent Jeff Jowell is convinced the putting surfaces are healthy enough for traffic.

Black and alternate tee boxes will also be sodded with Paspalum concurrent with the arrival of the new sod. We will re-sod these in-house and they should be completed before the greens project begins. We will accelerate our efforts to till and re-sod "in-play and highly intrusive bald spots" from March until November as time and weather allow."

(Membership Cap)
"We have elected to decrease the cap number of 650 golf Members found within our bylaws to 600. We plan to institute this cap in early 2024."

Capping members while currently running initiation special?
I'm confused. What is golf membership now?

Great question. I don't have a dog in the fight but my wife was a membership director at some clubs around Houston so curious on a few things...and this is what I would want to know before joining

What is initiation normally?
What is it now?
Is it refundable?
What are monthly dues?
What were they 12 months ago?
What were they 24 months ago?
How many members do they have now?
Who decides the number of members...since they just reduced is it gonna be easy for them to increase?
What is the process if I decide to leave (some clubs are can't resign membership until new members join which means you're on hook for monthly dues until it's your turn to resign)
Are assessments allowed?
Was there an assessment for this green reconstruction?
What other assessments have been done in last 10 years?
After green reconstruction what's next big project they want to take on?

There's around 25 full golf memberships available until the new cap is reached. They reduced original cap in the bylaws from when the club was started.

Played last weekend and the new greens are in great condition. Really the entire course. Had one of my best rounds going and had to leave after the 15th hole.
