I used to play the one in the Houston area. I liked it because at that time the tour director made an effort to have the right players in the right flights, and move people up or down so that sand baggers couldn't just prosper at the expense of others. He also added in stableford and other things in the tournament throughout the course of the season.
Unfortunately, I think an issue happened between a few tour directors and the Golfweek Tour national office, that caused some of them to break away and join another upstart national AM tour. I don't recall the name of it but when I find it I'll post.
I get the impression that many of these current and past AM tours were not directly managed by the organizations they were labeled as, but just were marketed as such (Golfwerk, Golf Channel AM Tour, etc.).
Which city are you looking to play in?
Edit:
https://amateurplayerstour.com/This is the other tour I was thinking of. They had live scoring and some other things Golfweek didn't have at the time.
