Bryson's new venture

Coming to the Ft Worth area from Bryson. Will need some reviews from locals once it opens.

In 5-10 years (or less) many of these facilities will be filled with weeds and cobwebs because I don't see this trend of golf sticking around. I have done Top Golf twice and have no intention of going back. Horrible way to work on your game with restricted flight balls that barely curve off artificial turf. The group entertainment value seems to quickly devolve as well as only one or two people remain interested in playing.

Topgolf was founded in 2000.

And no serious golfer goes to Topgolf to practice on their game. They go to eat, drink, and whack a few balls with their friends.

I'm wondering if this is going to end up more like a gym/fitness and training facility vs. TopGolf. They say it will have more training things and I'm wondering if more coaches will use it. That's what I'm hoping it will become is a smaller, more golf focused place where you can also hang out.

Has a 500 yard driving range so may be some future long drive competitions held there.

That fruit company was a lousy stock too

The TG's near us have been around 10+ years and stay packed. It's not a practice facility. It's a social facility, and a popular one at that

I get it guys that Top Golf is popular now in many markets and that is not what my comment is about. My comment of future closures in 5-10 years is based on 1) there are a lot of competitors coming that are saturating the market and from what I have heard, they are not a great product, 2) Top Golf and the others are moving into secondary and tertiary markets which don't have anywhere near the population base to support a $25mm facility, 3) American consumers are fickle, and 4) this is essentially another way to deliver alcohol and social time for which people are always creating new ways to do that. American business is full of fads that were massive for a while (can you say Krispy Kreme and self serve frozen yogurt)

In the early 2000s we couldn't build enough golf courses thanks to Tiger. Now we have them closing every week. Bowling, Sand volleyball and tennis courts were a rage, now many of them no longer are around. My prediction is Top Golf won't totally go away but this massive expansion by them and others will lead to a lot of failed facilities especially in smaller markets.
