For loading on a plane. Does it need to be a hard cover? What are your recommendations?

I've never had issues with the soft case and travel with it a decent amount. I do have a pole that I put in to give some support on the top and take my driver head off.

I guess the only potential down side is airlines don't cover damage with a soft case.

Soft case with hard shell up top. Never had issues. But don't forget the AirTag.

Club Glove Last Bag. I have the Collegiate sized one in maroon. Works great with the Stiff Arm and always get compliments and questions about it

My club glove is over 20 years old. It's flown cross country several times a year every year. It was lost twice or three times.

Still going strong.

I don't know whats been going on, but my last few trips with my Club Glove on Southwest have been a disaster. On one flight I had multiple clubs damaged (which have been replaced thanks to credit card coverage), and on one yesterday my Ping Hoofer bag had one of the legs snapped.

Is there something I should be doing that I'm not? I wrap my club heads with a couple towels, I have an extender arm to protect, but the body of the bag is not really protected at all.

I had an Ogio soft bag for a while and it was great, finally started getting some tears in it and light gray wasnt a great color for going through Hobby.... has a ton of scuff marks on it

The wife got me this Sun Mountain Kube for my birthday and need to travel with it soon. Like that it folds nicely to the size of a small roller bag.

Get a hard case.

I always post in these threads about how nice it's been since I went hard case. I use an SKB. Never worry about my clubs at all while flying.

I also give the standard caveat that, if you're renting a vehicle at your destination, you need an SUV or van to fit the case. Otherwise they're riding in the back seat of your sedan. That's been a worthwhile tradeoff for me. Hasn't really been an issue that has bothered me.

Same here, have a hard case but it's a pain when not fitting in the trunk.

Club Glove.

I believe they have a Lifetime guarantee. I have 3 different bags of theirs - for various reasons. I sent my 10+ year bag for a wheel problem and it was repaired at no charge.
