If you are a fan of golden era golf architecture, The LIDO at Sand Valley is wonderful and well worth a trip to Wisconsin. The other courses (Sand Valley and Mammoth Dunes) are great as well. Sedge Valley is going to be an amazing course too when it opens next year. Back to the LIDO ----
Tom Doak and Peter Flory (3D reproduction specialist) have recreated The LIDO (the lost Long Island course) in amazing detail. All of your favorite template holes are present and the 18th hole was a 1914 British Country Life magazine contest winner hole designed by a then obscure designer named Dr. Alister MacKenzie. He later did a few courses that are pretty good![](https://f5s.blob.core.windows.net/web/legacy/images/forum/smile.gif)
The course is still a bit immature and will look even better when the fescue rough grows in to knee height.
There are a few you tube videos on the Lido that are worth watching.
