worth doing?

Or try to do with Golftec, Impact Velocity, or any other Houston recommendations

I assume YMMV depending on who you get paired with.

They use a Trackman for fittings which is nice. Just realize the guy fitting you has a low base salary and gets paid by commission mostly, so when you see your build is going to cost $7,000.00 for the whole bag you know why.

I did a putter fitting once with them and thought that was cool. They use the SAM putt lab system and there was alot of cool information from it. They'll have more options for shafts than Golftec but that also means a more expensive club usually. Is gaining that extra 2-3 yards worth it? Only you know the answer to that.

Impact Precision up on the north side is basically Club Champion but without the high pressure sales. I've bought several sets from them and recently had a new shaft put in my driver. Go see Drew up there and he can get you the same thing as Club Champion would.

I had my first fitting at Impact last year. Its not much better as far as getting a cheap set of clubs. Mine still came out to $3,800 for a driver, 3 wood, 4-PW, and a putter.

I sorta wonder how my fitting wouldve been had they used stock shafts that came with the clubs first before trying all the expensive shafts.

oh they're definitely not cheap either, just much more relaxed environment without the pressure sales approach.

Club prices at Club Champion are stupid ridiculous.

I did a driver fitting there maybe 5-7 years ago and they quoted me like $1200 for just a driver.

I ended up getting a print out of the spec sheet and pieced it together myself and had PGA Superstore put the shaft in. Ended up costing about 1/3 of that

Will these guys work within a stated budget?

Like if you show up and say "I'm not interested in $400 shaft upgrades but want the best of the stock offerings or minimal cost OEM offerings"...will they do that or is that just not their thing?

They've recently put a Club Champion here in Kingwood and despite KWCC/Deerwood having 5 courses and a few others nearby, I just don't see how that's a profitable location.

I think this is the route to go with fittings. Get your specs, then get everything elsewhere.

Also, I haven't been to Impact Precision yet, but I did do a fitting at Club Champion years ago and I was later told that the guy who did them for Club Champion (Trevor) was now running it for Impact Precision, and he was a reputable guy.

Yes Trevor at Impact is who did my latest fitting.

He's a great fitter and I had just a good overall experience. Long story short my clubs were taking a long time to get there from the manufacturer and ended up bleeding into the Labor Day holiday in which I needed my clubs for. Trevor worked his ass off overnight and met me and opened up the shop on the morning of Labor Day so I could pick them up for my round later that day. Also threw in a couple boxes of balls for the delay (which wasn't their fault to begin with).

And I should say Impact was expensive, but it wasn't egregious price gouging. It was very reasonable.

I had a putter fitting with CC in Metairie a few years ago. Initially, I thought this was a good thing, but my strokes gained stats with 2 other putters don't show any significant difference between the putter I was fitted for and the ones I bought off eBay. Moreover, I've reworked the top of my bag by using Global Golf's "UTry" feature to try out several hybrids and woods. For $100 you could try out 4 different clubs on a course for 2 weeks and keep the ones that work for you, or send them all back. Call it self-fitting if you like.

They've burned me a couple times. Whatever you decide I would hit for a couple hours call a timeout then come back another day to confirm the numbers. They give you like a four hour time slot for a full bag and that's too much at once if you ask me. And I would ask to have a different fitter on the return visit. Guarantee you they would have different ideas.

I'm sorry, the in store fittings just don't work for me. I believe in fitting, but I prefer outdoor. Can still be off a mat and they'll still use trackman or otherwise, but personally, I'll never be fitted indoors again. Also, if your numbers seem to be significantly off, ask. I had a fitting once where I couldn't get a drive to carry more than 170. Turns out it was a calibration issue. Glad I asked or else who knows what I would've been fitted for

I got fit at a place in SA similar to Club Champion, but they fit you for stock shaft offerings from the manufacturer, unless you specifically ask for upgrades. Significantly cheaper and significantly better results compared to what Club Champion fit me into before.

Titlist does a fitting day. Look on their web site and you can sign up for a time.

It used to be free but it's a fee now and but you can apply it towards a purchase (I think).

I did one several years ago, guy went thru several club heads, shafts, lofts, lie, etc and found one combo that gave me pretty consistent results. Honestly I was hitting it really well that day, I think I maybe had one shank and maybe a few toppers, but otherwise struck it great so I got good results. Used a Trackman at the time and being an engineer was nice to truly understand all the numbers, angles, etc (not saying anyone else wouldn't but he flat out said "you engineers are good and bad for the exact same reason!) ;0

Club fitting was emailed to me and I ordered them from my local course b/c I got a 10% discount from them. 5-GW I think cost me ~$900. The fitter did not actually sell clubs at that time but I think that's changed as well.

did the same with Titleist and it was outdoors. You could choose to hit off ground or a mat. After doing indoor vs outdoor, I'll always go outdoor from now on (assuming weather is fair). I just don't trust indoor fittings after getting burned vs the much higher success of outdoor.

It could be a personal thing as indoor golf just seems too video-gamey for me, but I've had a lot of golf buddies tell me similar. I think indoor is great for practice when outdoor isn't feasible, or if you're just dicking around while watching sports with friends, etc. If you have to be fit indoors, I'd suggest at least going over 2 days like others have mentioned. We all have a different swing every day, but I feel like it's exacerbated indoors.

Just picked up golf again after 3 years of not playing. Wanted to upgrade my irons but clubs are so damn expensive nowadays. I'll just stick with my 7 year old Ping irons.

I was fitted for a mizuno m craft IV last year by Impact. As many of you know i just sold it. My putting statistics were a lot worse with the $300 putter they sold me than the one I had originally. That being said, I just bought an evnroll ER2 on my own accord and its been night and day in my putting.
