This. I think at least two of those fish will start. Those dudes can flat out play.

Paysse shot +2 on day 1. That was our only score over par. 14 rounds by this team at E or better. Somebody's posted day 1 - we didn't play poor, just didn't shoot the crazy numbers some of the others did.

Until today.

Golf is a sport where nerves effect play more so than just about any other sport. Adrenaline in most sports helps. Not so much in golf. A 3 footer is really easy until you have to make it or lose a million dollar bet. Most players including pros struggle in those moments until they get used to being in them and control the emotions a bit. Sam is the rare breed that somehow raises his game to a whole different level when it matters the most. What he did in the semis of the us am and then today on the back nine is legendary.

This had Aggie basketball v Northern Iowa vibes.

Ten years ago coming up later this month, A&M mens golf was involved in the infamous Ty Dunlap incident and lost in a 4 team playoff at the NCAA Finals when Dunlap was penalized for slow play after making a 40 foot putt for par on the last hole. Dunlap played with John Rahm that day but Rahm didn't get penalized.

Yep. We didn't make the 8 team finals because of that penalty.

I was this close to posting they were done but didn't want aginlakeway to quote my post if we came back and made it in.

I made a conscious decision not to look today...until now. What a surprise! I can't believe we made up so much ground. Hats off to the team.

The finals are May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This is the Golf Channel broadcast schedule for the finals at Grayhawk (all times ET):

5 p.m. on May 29: Final round/individual stroke play
Noon and 5 p.m. on May 30: Quarterfinals team matches; semifinal team matches
5 p.m. on May 31: National championship team match

Well i guess we should all take a pass and meet back here on the 26th !!!.....This was a great day to be a fan of the aggs .Alot to be thankful for if you're a aggie golf fan. This team can get on a roll. Who knows what might happen.

Need to for the next couple of weeks. The women play next week.

Just now circling back to this thread. Magical day. Bennett is just special.

Side note: I am a HS golf coach here in Austin, in TAPPS and I got to see them play first hand in Glen Rose last week. Impressive to say the least.

I am having a golf weekend at Squaw Valley this weekend with some Aggie buddies.

Bet our scores will be somewhat higher.

And the Woodlands team score is unbelievable.

you really only have to pay attention to holes 7, 11 and then 14-18. Other than that it isn't that difficult of a course.

Eston Duff from Hyde Park is headed to DBU. In District, he shot 66 and made 9 birdies. The Girls' medalist at State from FW Christian I shot 68-68, after shooting 65 in Regionals. She is also headed to DBU.
