Has anyone played Streamsong and stayed there? I am looking to put a customer outing together and wanted to know how the courses and amenities stacked out to some of the other "signature" destinations (Pebble, Bandon, Pinehurst, etc…).

I have no idea how it stacks up to other destinations but I could be a potential customer and I would like to be courted to Streamsong.

Streamsong is very similar to Bandon. Same designers and same philosophy. Nothing else around but golf. It all depends on what you want and where you are coming from. All you mentioned are all home runs…have fun.

Went over Labor Day and it exceeded my expectations. It's a warm weather Bandon without the coast.

We like streamsong as it is not 100% catered to golfers. You can bring customers who don't golf and they can fish or shoot skeet while the others golf.

I heard they were putting in or have put in a 9 hole course much the The Hay.

And to add we have done events at Pebble/Spy Glass, Pinehurst, Whistling Straits, Kiawah Island and Bay Hill this year and most of the others offered very little for non golfers as we stayed on property at all of them.

Like BD, Streamsong is walking only. I'm not sure how that impacts on your customers.

Fantastic golf by the way. The whole development of that area is fascinating. Phosphate reclamation projects have been a boon to great Florida golf courses.

Streamsong is definitely not walking only. People would die in the summer. There are carts there. It may be walking only in winter but when we were there (late April/early May) I'd say 90% or more used carts.

As others have said...very similar to Bandon. Biggest difference is that there is only 1 place to stay (the hotel) and the hotel is not connected to any course. There is a nice pool area where you can hit golf shots into a floating green in a lake....but overall very Bandon-ish

Streamsong is awesome. I have gotten a lot of dirty looks from my wife when I say "it was the best weekend of my life."

I should note, I am a golf sicko. For me, a place like Streamsong or Bandon is my heaven. The golf is incredible but that is the only thing you are doing while there. If you have a group of golf nuts, I couldn't recommend Streamsong more. If it is a group of more casual golfer, it may not be the right destination.

From their site. Is this not the deal?

The Walking Golf Philosophy At Streamsong

Walking Golf Philosophy: A feel for the game

The only way to truly experience the game of golf at Streamsong is by walking. And it is required during certain times and seasons throughout the year. Take in every moment and every step in your round by literally immersing yourself in this incomparable location. All three of our championship courses have been specifically designed to be played without a cartto really appreciate the dramatic elevations and distinct nuances of the unique course architecture. Walking on the natural contours and subtle undulations of the greens and fairways might even help you to refine your swing and elevate your play.

Walking Streamsong helps to preserve the fairways year-round. And walking is simply a superior golf experience. You may still be able to see the courses from the tees, and your approaches from the greens, riding in a cart, but the experience in between is surely lost. Live the incredible sights, sounds and settings of Streamsong by walking your rounds.

Carts are available to golfers who have limited mobility and a medical need for the golf cart. Medical documentation and advance notice is required please.

Just found this a little deeper in the site.

Golf fees listed do not include golf cart. Cart fees are currently $35 per person. Group caddies are required with the use of carts.

Carts are available April 1 December 7, 2022 on all courses. December 8, 2022 all courses will move to walking only.

Great info, thank you! The package we are looking at includes carts and the "Albatross" room for reserving all 12 guest rooms in The Clubhouse. You just have to have a caddy for each group if you do the carts. Comparing this (price wise) to Pebble, Bandon, and Pinehurst…20-30% less than Pebble and Bandon, on par with Pinehurst.

Any word on storm damage? This was pretty close to the path of the storm recently.

Was there twice (one for each course) the year after they opened. No carts. That must be "new" and, as you point out, a very good idea. With that said - it was much easier waking in Florida than Texas.

Nothing specific but I'd be surprised if it had any trouble from that storm. Central Florida will lose power and get wet (lakes may have overflow flooding) but generally should be good.

Went last year in September. 5 rounds in 3 days with carts and it was steamy, but great. We stayed at the Clubhouse (the rooms above the red/blue proshop and restaurant). We had it all to ourselves which gives you exclusive use of the Albatross room which is a large bar area, recliners, multiple tvs, fridge, billiards (I think) and multiple putting green holes scattered through. We stocked up in Tampa and just kept all our beverages there for the 3 days we were there. It's also great because if you play your morning round at either the red or the blue, you might have time to jump in the shower which made it more bearable. Price increases quite a bit in the cooler season (starting in Oct. I believe). Would definitely do again and would try and squeeze in some fishing, although I did throw a line in off the overlook next to the red/blue clubhouse. They greatly discourage any on your own fishing. Apparently something about gators

My buddy just got back this week. He said it was great. I have nothing other than that.
