Anyone played the campus course recently? How is it holding up in this drought and heat?

It was in good shape a few weeks ago when I played. No driving range right now though.

I've played recently. With the exception of just a couple of spots course wide, it's in good shape especially considering the weather. The greens are very good with just an edge dry spot on 1-2 greens. The GPS limitations on the carts have really helped some spots that tended to get "run-down" in the past.

I chipped and putt today. Practice greens had been punched recently.

With that being said, they still rolled fast. There were some bumps effecting direction. Not sure if the course greens are the same.

I really love that course. Didn't they lose a few greens during the 2021 storm? Have they fully recovered?

They lost at least portions of all the greens due to that freeze. They replaced all 18 with a better grass in ~June 2021.

They've been in great shape since then except for a couple of shoulders that appear to have been scalped too low after the core aeration in May/June(?) this year, which combined with the heat/drought has made recovery of those very limited areas slow.

Played last weekend and it's been cart part only with the rain here recently but in good shape.

Side note: They are acting like it's Augusta though and not very accommodating or flexible for a public campus course that would likely be trying to attract students and faculty. We tried to have a quick fivesome early Saturday morning and you would have thought the world was going to fall apart for even suggesting it by their reaction. Not even particularly busy. Not at all relevant to the discussion, but I feel better having said that since it wasn't the first poor experience I've had with the staff either.

Good for them. Fivesomes should not be allowed on weekends.

Played Saturday and I was very impressed with the conditions. Maybe 2 or 3 greens that needed some work but the other ones were ones were lighting fast! Also lol at 5somes

Off topic but are we going to do the tournament like last year at pebble. Think it was a two man one ball.
