I didn't want to derail the other membership thread. I've narrowed it down to 2 clubs. Willow Fork or Meadowbrook Farms.

Location: Willow Fork 10 minutes closer
Price: Meadowbrook cheaper by about $150/month. Willow Fork is 39% more per month. This is the biggest drawback.
Course: Willow Fork is a little better, proper country club vs public/private course.

Curious of others thoughts if they know these courses.

I know nothing about Willow Fork and have played Meadowbrook Farms only once.

Seems you've answered your own question. One is private, closer, and better. I don't see the debate.

It's the cost. Willow Fork is 39% more per month.

Just my opinion but if you're putting the pencil to it to know it's 39% more then a private club might not be the choice. I don't really know anything about either but to me the benefits of a nice club much outweighs the difference in cost when compared to a place you show up, play and leave.

How much is willow fork? I was just looking into falcon point.

I'd pick a true private course. Played willow fork a few times. Almost ran over the biggest gator I've ever seen in real life while looking for my ball I hooked into a lake. Drove right up on him before I noticed.

I like playing meadowbrook during the week, but is a bit too pricey on the weekends or prime times.

Willow Fork lists their pricing online. Their all inclusive option is $515 monthly, $75 quarterly food and beverage as well.

I play golf once a week and usually on a Friday and need an option to tee off in the morning. Their twilight packages seem fair but teeing off after 2pm doesn't work for me.

I'd recommend Willow Fork but it ultimately depends on what you want. I've been a member at both, but don't live in the area anymore.

Both are good courses, WF is going to give you the more traditional CC experience. Clubhouse, Tennis, Pool, Locker Room with a proper bar and you can smoke cigars, etc. It has as as a really fun weekend game and an active MGA.
I know MB has a few standing groups on weekends but it has been a long time since I've been out there. It just doesn't offer much aside from the course.

MB's course is better and more interesting, IMO… but is a semi-private course really even a club at all?

Just ask CPG, the groupon folks get more privileges.

I've played Meadowbrook dozens of times, Willow Fork twice.

They are uniquely different courses with uniquely different amenities, but both are nice.

All depends on what you want out of the club.

If your looking to play golf at a public (semi-private) course for a set rate each month, then Meadowbrook might fit your needs. However, if you're looking to be part of a private club with all the amenities that go with it, Willow Fork seems to be a nice place for that.

Do either courses have reciprocal relationships with other courses where you could also play?
