Looking for a nice course within about an hour of Columbus. Wolfdancer in Bastrop is closed on Tuesdays, the day we need to play.
Any other suggestions?
Meadowbrook Farms?

Is there still a course at the State Park? SFA State Park maybe? Played it 25 years ago or so and it was a fun course. I think it was only 9 holes.

Really?? Tell more

SFA was one of our favorite courses and I really was bummed to see it shut down.

Did the Falls ever re-open, or is it closed for good?

The Falls has a web site that says it is reopening soon. http://www.thefallstexas.com/

not much to tell...originally was supposed to re-open now (Spring 2021). Last I heard it will be pushed back to fall. Obviously, a lot can change.

Course is in good shape, and people have been playing it here in there if you got connections with the owner.

Didn't realize it was private. Never played it myself, but always heard good things.

Not really sure what "Private Golf Resort" means. It wasn't really killing it when it was a daily fee course. It's also not really a "resort" type of property. Not sure what the business model will be when they reopen.

every indication I have had thus far is it will remain private. the current owner is in no need for the course to make any income for it to survive.

Welp, that kinda sucks! I've played that course a lot over the years. Definitely the best course in that area.

The guy that bought the falls is a billionaire. I think he bought it so he could play golf and have friends down. Buddy of mine lives there now. He is doing everything right. Taking his time. Refurbished all rooms at the lodge. No ones knows how much dues will be. Not like a billionaire needs the money.

Correct on just about all points.

It was purchased for his customers and employees benefit and that is why he refurbished the lodge as well.

I cannot divulge too much information but was asked for input and I gave it. At this point in time I will say that there may be a membership option but do not expect it to be inexpensive at all.

Tillman Fertitta? Total guess but doesn't he own a 500 acre ranch in New Ulm? Gotta be nice to be able to buy a golf course as your own personal course whoever the buyer is.

some holes look great, others look rough. Seems they spend there time really fixing up a handful of holes then in the process let the other ones go and then cycle back around......in unrelated news I hear SFA is opening up soon.
