Any recommendations on lessons in the Houston area? Preferably closer to Katy. I'm roughly a 20 handicap but starting to play a lot.

I'm a member at Falcon Point so I could do there. Heard about Mike McGetrick, Neil at Swing Improvement, GolfTec. Are they any good?

Should I expect to pay $150-175/hr like these folks charge? I feel like I don't need a high end coach yet as basic swing fundamentals could be a good boost, but also don't want to throw money away.

That's pretty high. You can likely find someone there (pro or asst pro) for half that rate.

Thanks. Yes, the pros there are cheaper but I am hoping to get video, etc, because I learn visually and that's not gonna happen there.

Ask if they have it. Might have an indoor simulator you aren't aware of.

I went to Neil for about a year. He is very technical and teaches off of trackman numbers rather than feel. I left and went to someone else who taught in more digestible terms

This is the most important thing when picking an instructor for the OP's skill level. Someone who can communicate and teach the basic parts of the swing so you keep the ball in play and get down into the low 80's.

Golftec is always a decent option because you can get the instant video feedback and there are multiple instructors. If you dont mesh with one you can move on to another who might fit you better. Don't be afraid to make that move if you dont get a good feel from someone you're paying so much money.
