My guess is she did a lot of things to get to the top, things that she wasn't comfortable doing and that she now regrets. Once she realized that she had made it, she looked back and realized that not of it was worth it. She sold out.
I think she's having a breakdown, and doesn't know how to "live with herself" . So her solution is drugs and a lot of plastic surgery to help disguise any resemblance of the girl she use to be.
