Nicest not hardest. The guys going aren't great players, just looking for something really nice.

Falconhead, Star Ranch or Avery Ranch come to mind first

I'd say Wolfdancer or any of the Omni Barton Creek courses.

I'd probably rank them:

1. Fazio Foothills

2. Crenshaw
3. Fazio Canyons
4. Wolfdancer

I would go to Star Ranch, always in good shape and fun to play.

Lol unless kizer has done some major improvements since April the only thing it has going for it is proximity.

Second Barton creeks, falconhead and star ranch. Star ranch is probably the best bang for the buck, haven't been to falconhead in a while so no idea on condition

kizer is big an open. Very forgiving for players more interest in having fun than scoring well.

He did ask for the "best" and "nicest" public course. As much as I like Kizer, it's still a muni.

Agree that it's nice and wide open for beginning golfers though.

In San Marcos is a fun track that just opened recently called Kissing Tree. Fun track, and it's only 6500 and change from the tips.

Kissing tree is great. For the price hard to beat in the area but I'm in new braunfels

Roy Kizer, especially if the guys you are playing with aren't great.

No mention of Vaaler Creek?

It's a bit out of town but it's a great track that's fun, nice, not too difficult, and it's laid back enough for a group pf guys.

Yes...and now that you mention it, that's my vote.
