I read an article 20 something od years ago about Olympic-level athletes. The overall gist of it was something to the effect of you can raise children or Olympians. To compete at that level requires a level of commitment that essentially deprives an individual of their childhood. This has long-lasting effects on human development; some arguably good and bad. And I think that is exactly what happened to Tiger. The guy was on Carson as a 2yr old.
His meltdown a decade ago seemed to be a function of that level of commitment and scrutiny. He seems to be in a far better place, having not truly becoming his own man until after 40. His best golf is clearly behind him, but his best days look to be ahead.
I think he will make a great player/coach in international events.
