Anyone here a member at Twins Creeks in Cedar Park? How does it compare to Great Hills? I'm thinking about joining and would love to hear any thoughts on the Pro/Cons anyone has experienced.

I love the course. Pretty good/active club. I was a member at River Place for years and had the all play membership, which allowed me to play Twin Creeks as well as Onion Creek. I no longer live in Austin on a full time basis, so I dropped my membership, but would still have it if I were there all the time.

River Place is kinda meh (you better hit it straight, or you'll hate it), but the all play membership is worth it to be able to play Onion Creek as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I've played River Place once and it's the only time I've ever quite mid-round. Lost too many balls to count when they landed in the fairway and rolled off never to be seen again.

We had a saying at RPCC. "right is always wrong".

Go take a tour of Twin and ask to play a round of golf to better help you make your decision. I think you'll enjoy it.

And Onion Creek is still a really fun track, as long as you get to play the original 18.

Twin Creeks is a better course than River Place -- better design and layout (I'm a member at RP). RP is a better track since they redid the greens and bunkers a few years ago, and re-did the driving range a couple of years ago. They are about to finally re-do a bunch of the tee boxes. I'm interested to see what the new owners (Arcis) will do with RP and TC.

And, yes, left is always almost better than right at RP.

Almost joined TC a year ago. It's a nice track. Only warning is they have too many members and it's too hard to book tee times on the weekends.

I was a member at TC for 5 years until this year. You asked how it compares to GH and for the golf it's TC for sure. Tough but fair, unlike riverplace and a few holes at GH. I'm about a 5 handicap and rarely break 80 out there. I second the tee times being hard to get, and they even do split tees during the summer from 7-9 am to try and get more morning rounds in. I still play as a guest so if you want to play out there just pm me

I just saw your post in more detail. Stephen Held and his partners sold out? Did they also sell Onion as part of the deal?

Also, it was easy to quit RPCC once they made #1 a par 4 that was a max of 5 iron off the tee. They just need to close it down and turn it into a subdivision now.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you no longer a member? Did you join a different club?

Yes. They sold all of the clubs, including the Dominion and Lantana.

And, yes, the course is an acquired taste...

I'm a member. Best value in Austin. Only courses nicer cost at least 10x more to join imo

Because I wasn't playing there enough. I was in the mga but only played in 2 events due to conflicts(Aggie football among them), and then I only played 4 times in the last 3 months of 2018, so it was just not worth the money to me.
Also, I don't live in TC so my family wasn't using the non golf facilities.

I do agree with this though!

Thanks for all the responses. Haley has me booked for a 1:00 pm tee time today.
