Moved out to Oregon a couple of months ago, and most people out here walk instead of ride.

My bag is a Sun Mountain C130, so not exactly the best to walk with.

I'm either going to buy a new carry stand bag or buy a push cart, since they'll end up costing the same. Any recs or suggestions?

Push all day, every day. Let the HS kids carry their bags.

I'll never understand why you'd want to waste the energy carrying when you can get a push cart. Get a clic gear. Absolutely worth it. And if you want to make it even easier, get a light stand bag for it instead of your c130.

Down in the Rogue Valley/Southern Oregon.

Thanks guys. Seems like pushing is the way to go.

This seem like a good deal?

I have a push cart and I feel like it is easier to carry. I honestly feel more tired pushing around a cart vs just carrying a light stand bag. I feel like you end up taking more steps with the push cart too.

I know I am in the minority but just my experience.

Very very small minority

Went push cart in September and loved it ever since. Very rarely ride anymore. Got the clikgear with cooler addon (6 tall boys and an ice pack fit) and will throw up the umbrella when it's real hot. Walked 4 tourney days in the last couple weeks and much prefer it to the pacing of a cart.

Oh and the back and shoulders much prefer it to carrying.

At what age is it totally acceptable to start using the push cart instead of carrying.

Asking for a friend.

I'm 30 and push unless I'm playing with in a 4some. IDGAF what the perception is, I enjoy it and feel like I'm closer to the course. Also I lose less balls since I make sure and watch because walking back and forth a looking for the banana slice or duck hook sucks balls.

I see a lot of young players pushing, including college players. I don't think there is an age limit of shame these days.

I've been pushing since I was about 30.

I'm 36, several of my push cart mafia friends are low to mid 30s. Wish I would have started doing it sooner. Was a tougher decision on age and throwing up the umbrella for shade, but get some jealous looks from those guys when I do and just accepted I'd rather not bake for 3-4 hours.

Carry. Unless you are a girl or over the age of 40.

I carry more than push just because one of the 9's (we have 27 holes) at my course has several long walks and it's easier to hop on the back of someone's cart for those walks without a push cart. If we don't play that 9, I'll push.

Ping Hoofer Lite and a Clickgear. Love the bag and the cart.

Started pulling at 45 or when it was really hot. Got a push cart at 51 and think it's a lot easier, push just about whenever the course allows. Don't let pride get in the way of better golf over the last 4 holes by carrying.

Congrats on move to Oregon. Now that I moved away from Redding... But still keeping the house. You're close to Bandon so enjoy. Also make sure you stop at Tokatee and walk on your way to Bend.

Yes push all day. But Cliqgear is a bit cumbersome to set up as it requires adjustment of 3 different points compared to CaddyTek's one push open and close. Also, Cliq front wheel is locked and it's more difficult to maneuver than free wheeling front wheel of Caddytek.

I walked 3.5 rounds last weekend. Cool summer in SW Virginia helps.

2 to 3 bottles of water/Gatorade and hydroflask filled with ice. Also have an attached sand bottle. A bag of trail mix. 12 balls. Bug spray and sun block.
Lazer. Of course my 15th club-ball retriever. Speed stick and alignment sticks.

If you can carry it, good for you. Hope you have a strong back. Men's club here we all push except for those who can't.

Yup, it's the ultimate old man set up.

Go with Caddytek and save money. I've used both. Easier to use, lighter, easier to maneuver.

I don't know, stud. Just here to inform.

Do you normally bow up to 19 yr old girls?

I'll be 60 in December, I just started using a push cart this summer. I still like to carry my bag, if I only play nine holes. The push cart enables me to walk when I want to, without tiring.

If you go with push cart, be sure you go to a golf store and place one of their C130 bags on several of their push carts to see which one works best for your bag.

(I say this because a buddy of mine has a Sun Mountain stand bag, and he bought a Clic gear push cart. His damn bag doesn't fit well on the push cart.)
