My brother, LHIOB, called in a favor and got us on Muirfield today. It's incredible. The range was great...the fairways were like hitting off carpet. Greens were quick but not super fast...probably about 11 (they got a lot of rain the day before and we had to stop playing after hole 6 for about an hour due to thunderstorms so the greens were just slower today)

Is Muirfield ultra exclusive and one of the more difficult to get on, or are they open to reciprocal play from certain clubs?

I'd say it's one of the more difficult courses to get on. They only allow guests to play without a member on Thursdays. The member has to set up everything for you...if you were a member of another exclusive club im sure they could arrange something though

Given the Open is going on, that's where my brain went too. Muirfield Village is always aesthetically pleasing on TV, bet it was even better in person!

Curious did you have a milkshake? It seems like all they talk about Memorial week.

They dont let you pay for anything with a credit card so everything went on the members tab. We were gracious for him just letting us play...we didn't put anything extra on his tab. Hopefully there is a next time because I forgot about the milkshakes.

My buddy was there for the tournament and he is a swing coach for one of the guys on tour...he had clubhouse access and text me a picture of one of the milkshakes and said they were awesome
