Noticed today that my driver has a crack in the hosel. Bought it off of WRX B/S/T a few months ago. Have heard good things about ping's customer service, but I'm worried I'll be SOL since I don't have a receipt.

Anyone have experience dealing with them?

Send them that picture and you'll get a new one. I'll be shocked if you don't.

Even without a receipt?

Btw, this driver is the best I've ever played. As someone who struggles to get a positive AoA, the 12 of loft really help. Love this head

Yes, just tell them "I bought this last year, and the hosel cracked"

You don't have to tell them you bought it used off BST. Warranty should have been good for 2 full years when it was the latest model.

I have a big round coming up Saturday... would you still play it?

No idea. If it's still launching, go ahead. If it breaks 3 wood off the tee?

I cracked my g20 back a few years ago and ping replaced it without questions, just reach out to them or have your local pro do it if he has an account with them.

Would be surprised if they didn't replace. I just had a brand new epic flash put in my hands after my old regular epic had the carbon plate underneath come loose. I didn't buy it new I actually bought it used off Texags years back and they didn't ask any questions.

Given the fact that there is so much counterfeit golf equipment out there, I'm surprised that companies don't ask questions and carefully look at the clubs before replacing.

One golf publication, a few years back, did a used golf club study. Bought dozens of used random clubs off places like ebay, then took them to the manufactures for evaluation. 50% of all the clubs were fake.

TaylorMade has replaced 2 M1 3 woods, an M1 driver, and a bag for me in the last year and a half or so. They never asked for a receipt. I would think Ping would do the same.

You broke 2 woods and a driver in a year?

Ebay had a major fake club problem 10+ years ago. Since then it has gotten MUCH better. Almost obselete

Yep, cracked the driver and 3 wood and dented the face on another 3 wood. The M1, especially the original one, had some major issues with cracking. Several of the guys I play with had the same thing happen on the early version M1 and M2.

This may be a common failure mode on these drivers. My dad had this happen recently on a G400. He took it back to his course and the pro sent it in for a replacement. Make contact with Ping, I'd be surprised if it wasn't replaced.

Well that was bad luck. Cracked another driver today. Doubt TM has the M1 anymore but they're sending me something. If it's not the M1 I'm hoping it's the M5.

The M3 sucks. I'll sell that if that's what they send me and make the switch away from TM.

Talked to ping yesterday. They told me to take it to a ping retailer and they would handle it. Took it to golf galaxy, and they are going to send just the head in monday (I have an aftermarket shaft). Ping said that they will just send a whole new driver back. Now I don't know which of their factory shaft offerings to go with

Sorry for the late reply, but i just noticed your post. I use to get two different golf magazines. The article was in one of the two magazines, I forget which, about 5-6-7 years ago?

I'm not surprised given how popular sites like eBay became. Too easy for folks to make money.

My buddy worked in China for several years. He brought back 3-4 sets of counterfeit Callaway irons to give to relatives. Most of those ended up being sold online.
