Switching from Interlock to Vardon grip

Right pinky knuckle has been killing me recently. I've used the Interlock grip all my life (just because Jack used it, as well as Tiger), and it has served me well.

I've played around with various grips on the range over the years (strong, weak, Vardon, etc.) but always revert back to interlock.

Have any of you changed, and what is the expected "comfort" timeframe? Have a member-guest coming up in about a month, and will probably knock out 3-4 rounds and a couple afternoons at the range.

I started off using the interlock grip and was "successful". Then one round it was cold and I couldn't quite interlock comfortably with my cold weather gloves. So I started overlapping my pinky and it actually felt like I had more control. However, then it became 2 fingers overlapping and no lie it was nearly hand on top of hand by the time I was through with it. It took some time to actually get back to a comfy feeling with interlocking. I'm glad to be back to interlocking because the overlap was assisting in a huge hook.

I switched a few years ago to try and keep the right hand put of my swing, it worked too. I still hit some duck hooks but not nearly as bad. It took a little time but just commit to it and you'll get it. I have pretty big hands too so I think that's part of the reason it works better for me. It helped me with those little pitchs around the green too.

I played interlock for 10 years. Switched to overlap a few months ago. Took a few range sessions to get used to it. Haven't looked back.

My biggest problem with interlocking was inconsistency in how deep/shallow I would interlock and it started to drive me crazy after a while.

I struggle with keeping a consistent grip all the time. I switch it up all the time trying to see if something will help - bad idea I'm sure. Currently using 10 finger grip. Nothing has ever felt more comfortable or allowed me to strike the ball more consistently.

Started interlock 37 years ago... Went to overlap somewhere along the line.. Then interlock again but Changed to overlap last year. Gives my left hand more control.

My problem with interlock is that I tend to grip the club tighter. I believe it was Hogan who said to grip the club like you are holding a baby bird.

Trying to justify my use of the 10 finger grip here ...

Played interlock for years, but started developing bad blisters on right pinky and ring finger...it was very painful during a member guest so I went to overlap on the range Sat morning, played well the rest of the tournament and haven't looked back.
Please tell me there's a special place in Heaven for Aggie fans! It's like we are living some sort of penance on Earth.
