Very familiar with the course and area lived in Frisco since 92. Actually played it the first weekend it was open.

Anyway looking at moving out in the area...

Cost to join:
Monthly cost:
What does the monthly cost include:
Do they still tag you for a cart fee every time?
Can you use your own cart?
What is a guest fee if someone plays with you?
Is it crowded all the time, or just Saturdays..

General info, thanks!

Been a member at GC for almost 3 years:
-Our realtor "threw in" the initiation fee but believe it is $10k. I suspect you can negotiate that down.
-monthly dues for family are $560 after taxes I think around $350 for individual
-cart fee is extra $17 for 18 holes
-can't use your own cart
-guest fee is $100 but if a "family member" it's only $50
-not too crowded but if you want to play during prime golf times (Friday/Saturday, you need to get a tee time in advance.

Can I be your brother and pay the $50 to come play sometime? I live by the Kroger but usually drive up to the Bridges.

Thanks that's perfect, thanks! That is such crap and exactly what I expected.

I live on a golf course now... its public, but heck half the time they let me play for free, because I am up there all the time.

Free, being 5:30 or later usually on a week day. Which is what I like to do. Can play 9 in 45 mnutes, or even 18 in 2 hours...

When I do pay its 20 to 40 bucks....

So now its membership, no biggee, monthly, thats fine.... but 17 bucks every time I tee it up.... Thats not good at all...

What the heck is the 560 for... it is a rhetorical question.

Most private clubs charge something for carts.

Three options at my member-owned Club:
1) Club-owned cart is $18 for 18 holes, $9 for 9 holes.
2) Member-owned cart stored at home is $720 annual trail fee.
3) Member-owned cart stored/charged at Club is $40 per month and the $720 annual trail fee.

Rather aware, still stupid in my opinion... Charge a rate and call it good. Its like your stupid at&t bill, never the same from month to month, but its supposed to be.

The $560 is to have an empty golf course most of the time and better odds that those that are on the course with you actually understand a little golf etiquette regarding speed of play, taking care of the course, etc

Let's face it, private club memberships are an extra expense and can only be justified as entertainment when all other needs and savings are met and it would be the first thing to go in a budget crunch. Reality of cost is nearly double what I outlined. I play approximately 35 rounds per year (always in a cart) and have a couple of kids that play 20 rounds per year (mostly summer so kind of a baby sitter for kids) We spend below average in the pro shop, bar and restaurant yet our monthly average is nearly $1000. Course is pretty good, I'm a 2 handicap and it's the most challenging/frustrating course I've ever played on a routine basis. They keep it in great shape but it by no means is an immaculate course. If you love golf, play 1 or 2 times per week, have the means AND live in or very close to Prosper, you'll enjoy it.
