How long do you want to ignore this user?
Rented a house in Hounds Ears Club for 21-28 July.
Amenities included with rental: Unlimited use of pool, clubhouse, hiking trails, and 1 mile of private Fly fishing water on the Watauga River (I'm a fly fisherman as well).
An 18 hole round of golf with a cart for me and my son is $192.

Anyone on here ever been to Hound Ears???

Never been, but that looks awesome. North Carolina has some of the best scenery.

Back in the mid-90's when I lived in coastal North Carolina, my friends and I would go to the Boone area frequently to fly fish, ski, and hit the bars around Appy State (which had a HIGH female to male ratio ).

So, after 25-ish years I've decided to go back. I agree with you dc509, western North Carolina is beautiful and has a true 4 season climate. We are also considering the Boone area for retirement.
