Got to play this course for the second time a week and a half ago. The first time was for a fundraiser so althought the course is unreal, the experience was pretty ordinary as far as that goes. But this time was as a gueat of one of the head honchos that run and operate the course and OH.....MY......GRACIOUS!!

The course was wet but in good shape. Beautiful layout and scenery. We got to play the 9 hole par 3 Needler course, treated to lunch, then 18, and had a personal caddy all day.

I cant go back to my local course/ club any more. Ruined it for me. I wouldn't even know what to do if someone wasn't stading there waiting to hold and clean my irons after every shot. Haha

Anyone else ever play this course?

It's a hell of a fun track, but like you stated, the customer service what makes it stand out.

It's a great course. It's cheaper than Pinehurst and Pine Needles in Southern Pines. Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a great place to live and so quiet!

Glad you guys discovered this gem. I've lived here for a couple years and have no complaints. Quick drive to Pinehurst and Good eats in Southern Pines.

One of the best experiences I've had. Was out there for just over 24 hours and played 36 plus the Needler. You cannot beat the service and the course was in great condition even being wet. Can't wait to get back out there.

Unbelievable course. One odd thing for me is the back to back par 3s. Outside of that it really is a great, tough course. And by the way the second of those par 3s is like 210 carry if I remember right.

Not a member but I have played it upwards of 50 times. Never gets old and can't wait to see how it progresses over the next few years

Have played it three times and it is a phenomenal experience. Customer service is top notch and you never know who might be on the course or in the clubhouse.

One day there was a guy at the table next to us with seven of his buddies. He might have had a few hit records. George something or other and he probably drove from Amarillo by morning. The great thing is you are treated the same as the celebs.

Do you happen to remember which fundraiser is regularly held there? I'm a regular Joe Schmoe that doesn't run in high end circles, so its unlikely a member will get me on. But if its for a good cause I'd be happy to take part. I've played in some in the past - like the Hurricane Harvey one at Miramont.

Yes Im excited to see how the new sod project goes. Gonna be a while before anyone plays out there. The kid that caddied for us said they were skipping an entire season and wouldn't be open again until Sept.

Apparently King George was out there a day or so before we were.

It was the SHSU Golf program's annual fundraiser tournament. Wasnt like a big corporate titans of industry deal.

The head pro, Chris Rowe is a great guy. I worked with him at Colonial in Fort Worth a few years ago.

Great service, great course. I have had the opportunity to play golf all over the world. If you can maximize these two elements, you can say it is a winner.

"Sod project" is quite the understatement for a complete renovation

I thought it was December 2019 thru Sept 2020...

4 piece plays like Prov1 and 3 piece doesn't. For me, 3 piece spins alot more and softer.

My family's farm is about a 10 minutes drive from Whispering Pines just outside of Groveton.

A bucket list item for me is to get to play WP. Not sure that will ever happen.

I grew up in Groveton. Driven by that course thousands of times, but I've never even seen it.

My friend was assistant superintendent about 10 years ago now and got to play it couple times. Hands down best course ive ever played. Fish-N-Chips I went to Groveton and my step mom teaches there. Did you graduate from Groveton?
