Anyone else seen this? Think it's just a fad?

I think it's pretty goofy, but it is interesting. I'll be curious to see if he has any success with it and if it catches on like his single length clubs...

i actually think it makes sense.
of course I also watch the hole the entire time when I putt, just like I watch the target with any other accuracy activity/sport I do.

Doofus

There's a reason this hasn't caught on before.

About 3 years ago I was missing almost everything left so I started opening up my left foot maybe 18 inches and looking straight at the hole. I pretty quickly cut my 3 putts down, but kept working on a more conventional stance and switched back once my "normal" putting improved.

Sam Snead putted this way.

I've always used an open stance with feet pretty close together. I've also always used blade type putter. Modeled after FIGJAM.

I also think Randy Haag who competes at the Mid Am/Am level does it. I think hes been doing it for over 2 decades.

I've wanted to try it ever since I saw that movie that featured it, but haven't picked up a putter yet.

This was a huge fad in the mid to late 70's, remember looking at my dad and just thinking, REeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelly????

KJ Choi used that putting method for a while, too.

He's been a pro for less than a year and was as decorated as you can be as an amateur.

I think he's doing the one thing guaranteed to screw up your game, over-think everything.

While there is a science to the golf swing, great players win because they are artists. Great touch, feel, and hands. Putting is the most artistic part of the game.

Fully aware. But everyone buying into his gimmicks is way premature given the fact that theyre relatively unproven.

Everyone buying in? Some people have bought in to the clubs, and no one as far as I know has bought in to the putting thing, as it literally just went public. The clubs idea is already pretty well proven on some level. He won the two biggest tournaments he could possibly win with them.

He has a very technical mind....if it makes since to him and he thinks "this helps because x, you, z" Then he should do it.

Quit ragging on the poor soul. I'm thinking of DeChambeauing my wedges for better contact and less pulling left on my full wedge shots.

Bryson DeChambeau is hardly a doofus. He plays the game his own unorthodox way and it's yielded pretty good results so far in his young career.
