Think I had a buddy try em out. Not sure of the results, but they look promising.

LOVE them!!! I ordered 5 dzn Pro Plus Neons several months ago and really cannot find any real differences from Pro V1s. I have noticed no distance difference and I get equal spin and feel. They feel really good off the putter face as well. The Neons scuff slightly, but it is a cosmetic scuff and doesn't affect the integrity of the ball. At $25/dz when you order 5 dzn, I will be ordering more.

In my experience with them I found their durability to be pretty poor. Overall the ball was similar to the Pro V but I literally cut a batt with a 7 iron and put pretty good scuffs on my next two balls with Wedges. Maybe I got a bad batch but that was my experience

I started playing with them a couple of months ago and love them. I'm no single digit handicapper but I like to play with new, consistent balls. The tour series suits me well and for $14/dozen if you order 5 dozen I'd rather buy these than reloads. I lose enough that durability isn't my biggest concern.

I haven't been able to try Vice yet, but I have recently discovered two other alternative ball companies: Snell & Oncore.

Snell was developed by a guy who worked to develop the ProV1/ProV1x, as well as some balls for Taylormade. It has a review here:

The OnCore ball I discovered because of samples that were given out in the golfweek league I play in. They have two balls and one of them has a metal core. I played with them and have had some good results.

I want to check out Vice. My primary ball is a Srixon Z-Star, and since I get good deals on them from lostgolfballs, I haven't had a big enough reason to change yet. I'm not to the point of controlling spin or doing all that with my game, but what has the big impact on me is putting. The Z-Star feels great coming off the putter face for some reason.

I like Snell's My Tour Ball, but like Mr. Bond said these golf balls durability is poor.

FYI the the Snell My Tour Ball has seam giving you the ability to really maximize your distance if teed up correctly.

Not to derail the conversation, but one thing I think is very important is being consistent in what ball you use. I see guys, especially 10+ and higher handicappers, use different balls all of the time as if they are completely interchangeable. They are not. Different balls react in different ways.

Yep. I use two balls.

Chrome soft when I'm playing well. Wilson titanium when I'm not.

lost the last of my chrome soft yesterday and a NXT Extreme, NXT Tour and an old Nike One Tour. Holy crap those balls sucked. No control, bad feel off the club face, horrible around the greens.

As I've said on multiple ball threads, I dont get the massive advantage around the greens with the Pro-V1's alot of people do, but I could tell a massive difference in the Chrome Soft and the other balls I hit.

I was always an NXT fan and slow to come around on the Chrome Soft, but I'm sold on those now.

Yes. And it is not just about gaining an advantage with one particular ball. It is about gaining consistency. For example, I could probably hand you 10 different putters and you could putt pretty well with most of them after a little time on the putting green. But you would never use a different putter every three holes. Golf balls work the same way. People treat them like they are interchangeable like a pair of golf shoes not realizing they really are not.

I play the Pro V1x, and in the last ten years or so have played a few others as models have come and gone. A couple of times this year I have played with different balls to look for different characteristics, but only as a one off experiment. I ddint really find what I was looking for so after one round went and bought more 2015 Pro V1xs.

You do not have to be a good player to notice the differences. You just have to be aware. How come I was getting more spin yesterday compared to today? How come the ball seems to launch higher? How come I am leaving every putt short? People often think it has something to do with their swing not considering the fact that they are playing with different golf balls every time out and that might have a bigger impact than they realize.
