I forgot all about it but this evening I turned on the Golf Channel to maybe catch a new Big Break or The Fererty show only to see "Live at The Presidents Cup." First group is off in 40 minutes.

Planning to watch some tonight - thinking the US should roll.

Will be shortly. Figure I can squeeze in a couple of hours each night before bed.

I'm watching now and will catch some of it everyday. Really terrible time for most of us. Have to catch the highlights in the mornings.

USA off to a strong start

I just like rooting for the USA in anything. Plus D. Johnson and Spieth are my two favorite players and are paired together.

Watched the whole damn thing!!! Phil crushed his drive on 18!!!

US team couldn't miss a putt first couple of hours I watched. Complete opposite of the Ryder Cup. 4-1 US after day 1.

Nick Price really **** the bed by sitting Sang Moon Bae on the first day. The largest, most viewed golf event ever in Korea and he sits the only Korean on the team. Bae should hit the first shot to open the competition.

Glad to see the change. I didn't even know about it until this article. Which is kinda the point. If the Ryder Cup changed the format we would hear about it. But since no one cares about the Presidents Cup this was way under the radar. Hopefully this will make it more competitive.

You're being sarcastic, right? They've discussed it quite a bit on the radio and on the Golf Channel. The Internationals also wanted it to go to 28 points overall like the Ryder Cup.

As an aside, a couple members of the International team also said that if this Presidents Cup isn't competitive, they might consider skipping future cups. I don't really care for this event either way. Seems like it would make us better prepared for the Ryder Cup, but our record doesn't reflect that.

What I meant was that had the change been for the RC, it would've been a bigger story and gotten more airtime on SportsCenter and not just on golf-specific stuff.

I agree. I've given up on ESPN and SI, since they're dabbling in TMZ type stories and 'news.'

And regarding Sang Moon Bae, why not put him out there first with Danny Lee? I still think Bubba and JB win that match, but at least give the home crowd a little something...

I hate to say this but there's too much golf these days. It used to be 4 majors, two '5th majors' (Players & Tour Championship) and a Ryder Cup every other year. Now with the World Golf Championships, Fed Ex cup play-offs and the Presidents Cup, they doubled the amount of do-or-die super important golf weekends. It saturates the whole market. I have little interest in the President's Cup but will watch it if I surf by the golf channel and it happens to be on.

In general. It seems like we're consistently hearing about people bombing the ball. Not out to 315 either. I'm talking 350's and 360's. It was like this at all of the majors. I'm sure some of that had to do with fast fairways and some wind, but even so i've never heard someone go 350+ numerous times in a year.

Without the hard fairways and favorable winds at the Tour Champ, these guys were mere mortals. Don't discount just how big a factor those things are, especially the fairways.

5.5-4.5 now in favor of US. Lots of golf to watch this evening with play starting 5pm central time. The putting magic seemed to leave the USA in most matches I saw.

The putting was terrible last night. U.S. needs to step it up.

When do people start teeing off tonight? Would love to try and catch some of the action.

They've absolutely dominated the internationals in fourball in the Pres Cup.

Golf channel just showed a stat that states otherwise and the results from yesterday back that up....where the internationals took 3.5 out of 5 total points.

Man the US is having some trouble.

Bubba misses a five footer for birdie that would've given the US a full point. Ugh.

Now Bae & Matsuyama look like they might get out with a halve as well.
