Bandon Trails- this course is tough and plays back up into the mountains and forests. We played this course twice and both times in the afternoon so the wind was always blowing more
#2 Par 3
#3 Par 5
This is like #16 i think...up hill and into the wind...the picture does not do this justice just how up hill this hole is
Nice pics. I need to post mine, just got back a week ago. Trails was my favorite and best scoring rounds. Had a 35-40 mpg wind at pacific one afternoon. Brutal. For cost question above it was around 3000 without airfare for six rounds with caddies and food and lodging at current (high season) pricing.
I'd say Bandon Dunes just ok...Pacific dunes is a top 15 course in US. The staff and caddies there will tell you the best course out there is Bandon Trails...but all courses that are there are in the top 100 of US I believe
I didn't just have bad "luck" (or Im just not that great) I ended up in the worst possible place in each bunker. Our second day was the worst. That night we realized that it was Friday the 13th and it started to make sense.
My favorite was on #16 at Old McDonald. Blind shot into the green over a massive dune. There was an aiming stick and I hit about 5 yards to the right of the stick and I hit the ball really well. We got up to the green and I didn't see my ball on or around the green or in the massive bunker that protects the front. I didnt find my ball until I looked back into the bunker because it had rolled up under a lip and your couldn't see the ball even standing right on the edge above it.
