Let me start off by saying that I think it's unfair to compare men and women in sports. Men and women are different. Period. Comparing the two head-to-head is an exercise in futility.
With that being said:
quote:
-they hit the ball just as far as a low handicap male- off the tee they are 275-280
Not trying to knock on you or anything, but driving distance is weakly correlated with HCI.
I see 10+ HCI's hit 300 yard drives on regular basis -- and almost all of the "low HCI" guys that I play with hit the ball well over 275.
For what it's worth, there isn't a single LPGA player that averages 275+.
Also, regarding your comment on their short games -- they aren't even close to PGA caliber short games. There is a reason the pundits and experts slammed Michelle Wie for trying to compete on the PGA Tour. The top men in the world and the top women aren't supposed to compete head-to-head -- it's simply not comparable.
In the end, I hope you don't perceive this as sexist or bigoted -- the LPGA stars are absolute studs and I plan on taking my daughter to watch several of their tour stops in person when she's old enough.
