Playing there this weekend with some friends. Never been. Thoughts on layout, general conditions, greens, etc.

Played in a scramble out there last fall.

Very nice condition at that time.

I worked there over 10 years ago, most recently played around 3 years ago. Always in great condition for the level of course. Very cool Keith Foster layout. Has relatively open fairways but still requires some thought as the angle makes a difference going into the green. Greens are pretty severe, always rolling well. They use to have large fans for the greens which I assume was because of bent grass, may have gone to drawf bermuda by now.

Fun course all around.

Texas star is mini verde now

Great course. One of my favorites in the area. It is challenging though. Not extremely tight by any means, but if you do stray, it's usually quite punitive regardless of which side you miss on.

It's a pretty nice course for the green fee. I hate the, "no hitting out of native grass areas" crap though.

And we all know how to remedy that, don't we.

It's not mini verde yet. They will be making that transition from bentgrass this summer. The practice green is mini verde. Don't make the assumption that the greens are going to roll the same as the practice green. Good course and now that the grass in the fairways is starting to come in, it is looking and playing well. Make sure to hit the fairways and see if you can spot the bobcats that live there.
