I'm not sure what they're from because I don't believe they rolled the fairway grass out, but they may have. There's just lines that go down the fairways about half a inch to an inch thick.

rolled on to the front of the green, 45 feet later the ball stopped rolling

That's called blading it.

if you don't want to spend $50 or $60 for a round, then go hit up Bryan Muni. A lot of money was spent on the renovations and it takes a certain amount of money to pay the staff and the upkeep. Unless you want to raise tuition or add a "golf course fee" to each current student's fee statement, quit *****ing about it, sack up, and go enjoy the nice new course that is available for you to play without a membership.

Actually the course is privately owned so I will wait to play it again until it's worth the price. Until then I will continue to play Briarcrest and enjoy it more. You can go sack up and play wherever you want tough guy.

Tough guy? Ha! Just saying, the same people who ***** about it being too expensive at $50 and $60 are the same people who complained about it being a **** hole when the price was $30. Just saying there are a lot if cheaper options available for play.

So I played the course for the 1st time this weekend. Was a fun round Saturday afternoon...empty course for a few holes in front and behind me. Hadn't played a solo round in a while.

Damn. That is a fun, well envisioned course. Very impressed. Played pretty well too...combo between a better, longer warm up, the course setting up well for my game, and the increased practice as of late.

No better feeing than threading the needle off the tee at no. 1 between those bunkers. Loved the layout of pretty much every hole, and enjoyed the homage to a few of the old holes as well (old number 4=new number 3?, old number 12 = new 14 or so?)

Oh, another note. I see what y'all are talking about with the greens not holding shots. I played more than a couple putts off of the back fringe haha. With some time, they'll be great though.

Glad you had a good time. I don't know what it is about that layout but I think it is just an absolute blast. I'm looking forward to playing some more during football season.

The only problem I have seen with the layout, is with the right south wind (which we had the other day) when you're on 15 tee, you have to hit it extremely close to 13 green. There's a shed blocking you but there is a window for some disaster there. (I've seen people get very close to smoking people on a drive)

Of course if you want to layup and avoid it, you can do so.

Speaking of shed, I hit a huge hook off of tee at 5, ended up in the adjacent fairway (can't remember which hole that is). Nailed my 2nd shot pin high, somewhat over that bathroom and a tree or 2. Was setting up for a possible right miss, but ended up hitting it on a rope. Got up but didn't get down :/

Bogey. Hitting out of the other fairway wasn't too big a deal...just "looked left and right before crossing the street."
