Figured I would go ahead and give this a shot. My experience the past 4-5 years is there is an ample supply of free Shell Houston Open tickets every year (and a lot that don't get used). You just have to look around or ask for them.

I'd be interested in Fri, Sat, or Sunday tickets if you have free access to some that you won't be using.

I am looking for 2. Maybe we can use this as a thread to pass tickets around.

Last year, I was offered 4 and gave two away. I'll come here with any excess tickets I come across this year.

I always like to get a spot right behind the 9th tee. Something about seeing pros hit long irons up close that I get a kick out of. Won't be able to make it this year, though.

I'll be headed out there Friday with a guy I know that caddies out there as a day job. Walking the course and watching the guys with a caddy really gives you a different aspect.

My wife has no interest in golf, but she loves going to the SHO. If there's nice weather, its one of the best things to do in Houston all year.

Sit around and drink some cool pops. You can choose to follow some of your favorite golfers around or post up on a Par 3 green. Its one of the few places you can go in Houston and be surrounded by no low income riff raft that engulfs Houston.

She loves it.

Going Friday. Usually spend all day out there. I like going before the cut so you can try to see everyone you want at least.

I would be interested in two tickets for the weekend as well if anyone has any extras. I used to love going when I was a kid. Still remember when Sergio gave me a high five walking up to the 10th teebox.

Planning on going on Friday as well...They put on a great show and the course is always in perfect conditions. Not to flame, but The Tourney course is so much better than TPC SA and it isn't close. Very lucky to be able to play "Redstone" whenever I want living 15 minutes from it.

I'm working the SHO with the Traditions CC group on Weds/Sat/Sun (#14 I believe) and as part of our package they give us 4 free (1 day) tickets. I'm giving at least 2 to my BIL and nephew, but might have another two if his other kids decide not to go. If so, I'll let you know.

Since everyone is being so nice, ill take 2 or buy cheap - pref with a parking pass and ideally in the #16, #17, or #18 VIP tents!

It's nice to have a place that you can go sit in the shade, and the crowd is normally pretty good on the 16th. There is a full bar instead of just beer, but the drinks/food aren't free.

Not sure how much they cost, but you can factor those things in to see if it's worth it to you or not.
