That's the grip I use. Interlocking just didn't feel comfortable when I started, so I went with that one and stuck with it.

Interlocking is up to personal preference, but it looks to me like the thumbs are going straight down the shaft.

I laughed when I read: "Top Golf Coaching"

I don't know why, just laughed.

I don't use that grip, although I recently tried it for a few strokes at the range and it didn't feel too bad or give bad results. Doesn't look like his hands are really out of place, he is just angling his thumbs different than most I guess.

I used that grip, nuetral position, for many years. Always had issues getting club head square at impact. Switched to a more stronger grip with pointer finger and thumb "Vs" parallel and pointing to right shoulder.....ball striking, consistency and distance all improved. Handicap dropped from 18+ to around 7

You are right, that is a very neutral grip...didnt catch that. Was focusing more on the type of grip.

When I was neutral, I would have periods of getting hosel shanks. Havent had a single instance since going strong.

Want to talk about screwing your golf game up.....drastically switch your grip and try to hit balls.

Typically you'll start kids out with a baseball style grip. Sometimes if I am blocking or having trouble with my release I'll go to this grip on the range, sometimes even splitting my hands.

Baseball gripper here. It's just what felt most comfortable when taking up golf after a lifetime of baseball. I went overlap for a year or so about 10 years ago, but a horrendous slump sent be back to the baseball grip (which promptly ended the slump). I use a strong grip, but not crazy strong. It's not real far away from neutral.

Is this pic sequence more about the finger overlay or the that this is a very neutral grip?

I have been using interlock since I was a kid (15+ years) and I just switched to the 10-finger grip a few weeks ago. (see previous post)

I've never been consistent at striking the ball with my irons and tend to drop the toe end into the ground a few inches behind the ball. Since I changed my grip, I am now consistently striking the ball and actually creating a nice divot in front of the ball. I'm real good in keeping my left arm straight and pivoting around my right elbow, but never felt like I was getting any power through the ball w/ the interlock.

I think the 10-finger grip forces me to stiffen / flex my right forearm and allows me to more naturally roll my right wrist through the ball. I am now striking the ball at first contact and have a lot more power to follow through the swing, creating the divot and continuing with my front swing.

I am also noticing a slight pull with my driver / 3-wood, but as long as I visualize the follow through with the club head, I'm good.

I have seen at least 2 pros in tv the last year or so that used a baseball grip.
