Can I have a Tiger update please? What body part did he sprain today?

I'm calculating Tiger's final round scoring avg in 2013 as 71.1. FWIW, it was 70.4 in 2012.

I heard it mentioned during today's telecast. Think they said he was ranked in the 100s for final round scoring average.

This Reed guy is pretty good.

3 wins before his 24th birthday. His hot wife carries his bag normally, what's not to like?

He is not short on confidence even if it's unwarranted. Top 5 player? Lol please

Wouldn't mind seeing Reed on the Ryder Cup team

His arrogance in saying he's a Top 5 player and "he doesn't see a lot of guys that have done what he's done....other than Tiger Woods and the legends of the game."

Dude listed as finishing 3rd in college as one of those accomplishments. Has never even played in a major.

Hope this guy completely flops. What a *****.

Those comments are not going to sit well with the guys on tour.

Yeah, that's where I got that statement from as well. I admit I haven't looked it up.

I like it. Need some personality on the tour. Nothing wrong with being confident, even if it comes off brash. Kid is only 23. He's got a lot to learn. I'm sure the tour leaders will make sure he earns his stripes.

I definitely wouldn't build up some hatred over comments from a guy who has won 3 events in the last 8 months, and coming minutes after winning this championship which had all the big dogs in it and a lot in contention.

I think he'll be the next dominant player on the tour. Not dominat like Toger was but at least better than those who feign distaste over his comments.

When Reed hit that six iron to 7 ft. from underneath a tree to beat Speith in the playoff at the Wyndham last year, he served notice. Dude was written off on that hole and up and grabbed a handful of nutsack.

He destroyed the courses at the Humana with three 63s in a row, then got conservative on the last round and almost blew it. I thought he was too conservative coming down the stretch today but it was enough.

This win may have opened the door to kick tail the rest of the season, or the new baby may cause him disappear for a year or two like Bubba and Jason Day. His future is bright, though, whether it's this year or down the road.

I don't mind him being a bit arrogant. Pro golfers are usually ho-hum and just throw out cliches left and right.

Although him saying that only Tiger and all the other legendary players have accomplished what he has in his amateur and short pro career is ignorant. But if he can back it up from this point forward, more power to him.

Only 6 players have won 3 times before the age of 23- Reed, Tiger, Phil, Sergio, Rory, and one other I can't remember. So if the guy is feeling pretty cocky right now it's understandable I guess. No problem with what he said; now it's time for him to back it up. And he will definitely be on the Ryder Cup team. He was undefeated in match play in college when Augusta St won back-to-back Natty's.

Love the guy. 2 NCAA championships, Monday qualifying to 3 wins in 8 months. Name 5 better players right now.

DRE06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
LOL.

Bubba
Adam Scott
DJ
Speith
J. Walker

Shall I go on with the next 5 as well?

I'd go with Scott and Walker but not the other 3 on your list. DJ is playing well right now and has the win in China. Speith has won once; Reed has 3 wins in 8 months including a win over Speith in a playoff. Bubba is playing well too but his win a few weeks ago was his first in almost 2 years.
DRE06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You're crazy to put Reed above DJ & Bubba.

DJ has finished in the Top 6 in 5 of his last 7 tournaments, including a win. Finished in the Top 2 in 3 of those 7.

Bubba has finished in the Top 2 in 3 of his last 4, including a win. May be playing the best golf on tour right now.
jja79
How long do you want to ignore this user?
DRE he just beat the best field assembled in 2014 right? He's won twice in 2014. 3 times in 8 months.

I don't profess to understand the world golf rankings because I see guys like Fowler (a complete non factor in nearly every tournament) on those lists.

If they were teeing it up this week would you take Reed or McDowell or Donald this week?
DRE06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I would take all 5 guys on my list over Reed

How did Luke Donald end up in this conversation?

I'd probably take McDowell as well. He's finished in the Top 9 in 4 of his last 5 tournaments.

I'll take wins over top 10's any day. Agree to disagree but no way am I putting Bubba and DJ over him right now.
jja79
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Watson has won 5 of 199 events played.
Spieth 1 of 39.
Webb Simpson 4 of 149.
Jason Day 2 of 139.
Luke Donald 5 of 255.
Patrick Reed 3 of 51.

He's pretty good.

Very few have won as often at such a young age. If anyone deserves to brag right now he does.

No one likes Tiger anymore to win?

Isn't he still still #1 in world rankings?
DRE06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Bubba has finished either 1st or 2nd in three of four tournaments including a win. The 4th tournament was another Top 10. In both of his 2nd place finished he lost by 1 stroke. He's playing the best and most consistent golf on tour right now.

In the last 4 tournaments Bubba & Reed have played in together, Bubba finished ahead of Reed in 3 of them.

Eh, I definitely like the confidence...but I don't care to hear him running his mouth about how good he is or thinks he is. When you're really one of the best, other people say that stuff for you.

It turned me off of him a little.

I kinda like it. its been a while since someone in golf just came out and said "I'm the best, deal with it".

Typical PGA interview: "Well I hit the ball pretty good this weekend and was lucky to get some putts to fall early and just keep falling"

Reed interview: "Reed 3:16 says I just kicked your ass"

We want people to speak their minds and when they do, we rail against them. It's totally on him to back it up, which is the great thing about golf. He may be a little brash but this will be forgotten in a week or so.

This. You can't get mad at cookie-cutter boring answers and then also get mad at people who actually say something interesting.

By "we" do you mean journalistic society? I don't really get mad about cookie-cutter responses.

I thought Reed's comments were a little brash and premature, if not immature. I'll be excited to see him try to back it up though. I have tons of respect for athletes who put themselves out there, then follow through. Golf could use another "polarizing" figure. And I'll be really happy to see him tee it up for Team USA in September.

Hope he backs up his talk, though.

Remember these guys who were suppose to tear up the Tour? Anthony Kim, Rickie Fowler, Camilo Villegas, Charles Howell, Aaron Baddelay, et. al.
