Was in golfsmith at lunch and thought I saw someone shank it with a wedge from close in...like 45 degree angle into the crowd. Any idea who that was? Made me feel better about myself.

Before the delay, those conditions were freaking brutal. I don't know how anyone was under par.

Furyk's perfect bunker shot that rolled past the pin... then off the green... then into the water was one of the most unfair shots I've ever seen. Course design not unfair, just weather making it unfair.

That vid brings a smile to my face...given my recent, brief (knock on wood) case of the sh**ks. Cept I was doing it OVER and OVER again...he probably won't have another one of those for years and it will be on the practice range.

They're playing again. Tiger 3-jacks from 30 feet for par on the 8th hole. Still no birdies and at +1 on the day.

Duff has one birdie and one bogey in his last 8 holes after starting off so hot with four birdies in his first five. Leading at -4.

Half the field is under par, half is over. Looks like -2 or -3 would be a great score today.

Anyone know why Jason Day didn't start?

But as far as people who actually WILL be in contention this week, a few of the early-season hot hands are looking really good to start.

Zach Johnson, Dustin Johnson, and Ryan Moore all played very well in the first round. Jimmy Walker hanging tough at even par.

I like Zach Johnson to win a major this year. Maybe the British. Not sure why a fairways and greens kinda guy like him hasn't had better results at the US Open.

Damn according to shottracker Stenson just doubled the par 5 10th, Tiger got a bird and Scott a par, so the top three players in the world are now all 3 over for the tourney after the first hole of their second round. Ouch.

Tiger now -4 in his last seven holes. Maybe he can claw back into it. Seems like the wind is just stupid and no one seems to be running away with it. Even par might be right in the thick of it for the weekend.
