I've never played night golf, although I've been with my dad a few times as a kid when he did (1980's or 1990's).
Tonight, on the driving range, I stayed late when there were only a few of us left including a couple of the cart barn kids hitting around a modern night time golf ball.
The night time golf ball I saw seemed to be much brighter than the ones I remember as a kid. I held this golf ball, and I don't recall seeing a hole drilled in it that you'd insert a small glow stick. Strange. Also, how much distance do you really lose? I know they say 80% or so of regular full distance is about average. Does that seem about right?
Also, I noticed this website says (at least with their product) that you're not supposed to hit hollow metal woods with their product as the ball can damage your club. I never remember this. Is that true? That's kinda a bummer. I hear perssimon woods are okay--not that anyone carries those anymore.
