13.7 on the last update; 13.5 on the next one. Both are up almost a stroke after my one and only 79 (from a couple months ago on a 132 slope 6300 yard course) finally dropped off. I think that's a pretty good number for me.
Dropping my most recent 20 into Excel gives some interesting numbers:
- my average CR is 69.68 and slope is 123.6
- based on that CR and the previously mentioned "potential" in HC, a "good" round for me is 83 (I would agree). The 79 was "great".
- my overall average differential is 17 indicating that a "so-so" (aka frustrating) round is 87 (also agree).
- that's lower than my gross average round of 88 which I think is a good indicator of the value of slope. If I do poorly (88) on a weak course, I don't feel as positive as that same score on a strong course. And even though it's only a single stroke - shooting 88 is much tougher to take than shooting 87.
I took a lesson a couple weeks ago and he gave me some things to work on that will hopefully give me 2-3 more strokes and maybe a couple more 79's!
